Review summary

My wife and I made reservation for the January cruise many months in advance.  Two days before sailing MSC called and said they had to downgrade us to a much smaller unacceptable cabin due to overbooking.  Even though they refunded the price difference, we would have never signed up to spend ten days in the small cabin they gave us.  Our travel agent now tells us that this is a common practice at MSC Cruises. We would sail with MSC again only if we could get an iron clad guarantee the we would get the cabin we paid for.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

That really, really stinks.... :( Thank goodness I've never had that happen to my customers. You know your travel agent had no control....I guess the lesson would be: Don't book a guarantee (this kind of cabin is common but it's not common for a downgrade). I'm SO glad you still had a good time! You could have allowed that to ruin the trip! 👌🏼And like you said, how amazing are their shows!!!!!

How can they do that? We were on the same schedule 11 days, the ship is great but short of help to accommodate all their customers, I think. They need a thorough clean up in the cabins. They need more English speaking helps even broken English like mine, at least they understand what are you talking about!

No way!!! That's not fair!!!

I would be furious, especially on a ten day cruise. they would not need to guarantee me anything. It would be first & last cruise with that cruise line

May I ask what kind of room you booked and what you were moved to?
