Review summary

The ship was nice (just out of refurbishment) but not quite what we expected. As an Italian owned ship we expected much better food, better service and a European decor, not so-so food, indifferent service and plain vanilla styling.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
We were in the "premier" dining room and the food ranged from bad to okey. The first day the food was not as good as a Denny's but got better as time went on. Lunch was usually good and dinner varied but breakfast was just bad. We found an inexpensive wine and a decent champagne but the 3 day some of the bars and restaurants told us that it was all gone. But we still found it elsewhere! Go figure.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Mainly we went shopping, but that was sparse too.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The live shows were entertaining but were clearly of an amateur level. The dancers were terrific but the singers, for the most part were amateur. Some shows were clearly well done but some were high school level.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
A mixed bag. Some of the restaurant staff were very nice and some left the impression that the job was beneath them. We expected good food and great service but saw neither. The sales staff were first rate and very friendly. We would like to praise Shane and Nina in the La Pergola restaurant and Sandra and Corina of the sales staff. All went out of their way to be friendly, efficient and just did an exemplary job!!

Cabin / Stateroom

The smallest suite I've ever had. A nice room and well built and clean but clearly not a suite! A suite normally implies more than one room not a bedroom with a loveseat.

Long but okey. The custom's officers and staff were very pleasant and friendly, especially considering the circumstances with the health alerts.
