Review summary

The passengers we met were very nice and most agreed the ship was not great, lots of issues. the staff was good but need more training especially with food service. the Captain humiliated me in front of my family when all I asked was if he was the captain, shook his hand and then said oh we need to talk. Joking mind you well he told me that was not how I talk to the captain. Rude, not the least friendly sorry if I didn’t know Ship protocol while talking to the Captain, that is another reason we will never go on this ship even if it was FREE. The deals are good for MSC but our favor cruise line is Princess.

Food good, but breakfast and lunch needs work, staff seemed new and nothing came out together,and 10-15 mins before or after the main food. KMost food servers Were good, maybe the problem is the kitchen staff.

Marco Polo Restaurant

Great for dinner, staff excellent and so friendly. Breakfast and lunch service not so quick and lots of mistakes, we had a couple good servers who would smile and chat if they had time. Just seems like maybe new staff in galley as food never came out together.

Il Lido Bar

Great bartender Dominick, always a smile and good drinks. Very busy bar as it was right by the pool.

Bartenders could have been friendlier. We like to strike up a conversation but even when it wasn’t busy, they were serious. Big room.

Average singers not that good, same shows different costumes, but the abyss was good as well as the employees skit, it was excellent. The Beatlemania show was terrible.

Fine dining great, breakfast and lunch slow, lots of mistakes with orders, Buffet ok but need to go at the right time gets crowded.

Small shower, no extras like hair conditioner, shower cap. Had toilet problems but they fixed it the same day. Bed ok sheets old and pilley. Ike ocean view but tons of rust and gunk around window...old ship, carpet old too. Room had enough space for clothes, small TV, limited programs.

Ship tip

Don’t go on this ship. Old and small, not very friendly staff the white coats and captain.The bartenders were great as well as some of our waiters we saw regularly. We relaxed in the sun but disappointed with the ship.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

Nice pretty, it’s new big problem was all the flys around the outside Buffett it was a huge problem, glad we ate when it first opened, food was good. Can walk the island in 20 minutes, but it’s great for beach people and going for walks, lots of bars along the way, and food trucks. Shops nice but expensive, stayed longer here than any other island which 4-5 hrs, would have been plenty.

I was on this ship back in May of last year and I agree the ship is not so great. The food was delicious but the staff was very rude (not all) but most. Entertainment was horrible but I figured it was because they were a European cruise line so they catered to them. Great review.
