Review summary

Overall a great cruise. I feel MSC is just a few short steps of being on par with Princess and RCL. MSC wins on price, but with a little refinement could competing every category

Embarkation

Seamless and stress free

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was on par with other cruise lines, though, because the Armonia is a smaller ship, there might have been less choices. There was still plenty to choose from though. Our only real complaint was the fact that dirty dishes piled up on tables regularly at the buffet, and several times (on a 7 day cruise), there were either no clean plates available, or no clean silverware available

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Children's Programs

There aren’t enough words to give proper credit to the staff at the Mini & Juniors club. This was our 4 year old daughters 5th cruise (including 3 cruise lines and 4 transatlantics), and it was by far the best environment and entertainment for her on any of her cruises. She absolutely loved Carlos, Yokasta, Yogelis, Joana, and Kenia

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
In the dining room Justin and Aurung (sp), did a great job. Our daughter is on a gluten free diet, and they remembered from the first night on, and went out of their way to make sure she had a great experience at every dinner.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Armonia is small, but recently refurbished and presents quite well

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was a little smaller than usual, but clean, and had as much or more built-in storage than we’ve had in previous cabins. Neruda, our cabin steward did a flawless job. We have absolutely no complaints about our cabin

Ports of call

Montego Bay, Jamaica

2 out of 5
Time in port is so short that it really limits your options for shore excursions

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Great place. Take the $8 taxi outside the gates, to the nearest town (I don’t recall the name). We found it clean, safe, and interesting

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

4 out of 5
It is still being completed, and has great potential. Our biggest complaint was that seemingly every beach we tried to wade or swim at, there was a “life guard” blowing his whistle, and telling us we couldn’t swim. It made no sense, since it’s an island, with groomed beaches that have ropes and buoys defining the limits. Seems to be the prefect environment, designed for swimming.... but, no

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Absolutely the fastest disembarkation we’ve ever done. Customs was fast too. This may be because we docked on a Monday, and not on a weekend, so it wasn’t too crowded.

Wow that is good to hear that MSC is doing so well. I would take a little less refinement for a much cheaper price.
