We got a great deal, and it was definitely worth the money.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It was disorganized. The computers crashed 3 times. Even once the computers were back up, the attendant checking us in could not get our cards to print. Once we finally got in the terminal to wait, no one gave us an embarkation number and we didn’t figure out until we had waited over an hour that we could have gotten on the boat a long time before.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was excellent, especially the pizza. As vegetarians it was nice to be accommodated.
Marco Polo Restaurant
5 out of 5
Our waiter was attentive and the food was great!
La Brasserie Cafeteria
2 out of 5
The lines were very long, dishes were empty a lot, and it was hard to find seating.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The mini golf and shuffle board have been removed from the ship. The pools are fun and were not too crowded. The fitness center was always full, it was hard to find a machine to work out on.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
It was nice to have an area for 0-3. They had free babysitting and time we could play with toys as a family. The only complaint is that the schedule changed everyday and the only way we could find the schedule was to walk up to the childcare area each morning. We asked many times in childcare, at guest services, and our room steward, no one seemed to know how we could get a schedule for the week or a paper schedule delivered to our room.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We had a great experience with almost all the staff. Our waiter and room steward were friendly and accommodating. Guest services and bar service were polite. We did have some issues with communication between staff. The bar staff never seemed to know what the drink of the day was and we had to show them our daily planner to get the discount.
Our only bad experience with staff was at the excursion desk. We were treated poorly and asked to speak with a different staff member.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It’s a small ship, older design. It was clean, but simple.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had a free upgrade to an ocean view. It was a small room with a very small shower, but we loved the ocean view. We were disappointed that there was not a bed for our daughter. We had to make a bed for her on the floor each night and step over her when we went to the bathroom.
Ship tip
The starlight disco has beautiful views and is used very little throughout the cruise. It’s a great place to read a book or play card games.
Beautiful water and good food at the food trucks. Umbrellas cost extra, and the trees are too young to give much shade. The area for kayaking and paddle boarding is extremely small. The buffet is only open for two hours and had long lines the whole time.
Beautiful area. It was our second time here. Last time we took a trolley into town, this time we went to Maya Chan. The port itself is a fun place to hang out as well. Dolphins, birds, pool, etc.
