This cruise was an overall major disappointment. From the tasteless food, weak drinks, poor photography, lackluster entertainment (no comedy club shows, game shows), everything closing too early, everything being overpriced (liquor, jewelry, bags etc), boring buffet (no omelette station, no Asian/hibachi counter, no taco station, no deli; no tea time, constantly running out of things and having to ask for basic things like salad dressing and being met with an attitude as if we were asking too much; the weak weak drinks, long wait in line, no hot food after 11:30am; AND most important the nasty, dismissive, condescending attitudes of the guest relations personnel, I would not sail with MSC and would not recommend MSC to anyone. The management, staff and vessel need a complete overhaul.
Embarkation

We arrived between 12:30pm- 1:00pm- and did not get a Welcome Aboard photo.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food on the ship from the dining room to the buffet: HORRIBLE, TASTELESS, BLAND AND LACKED VARIETY. The chefs need to be sent back to culinary school for further training but I am not sure that would help. Much of the food was overcooked, including the shrimp and lobster which were both dry and tasteless. Such a shame to ruin what should otherwise be delicious food.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
This is a very boring ship and the spa is extremely overpriced.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
The shows were boring. The entertainment was predictable. Why call this a Caribbean cruise when the only music played was Latin/Spanish? Caribbean music is Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Kaiso, Zouk AND salsa, merengue, to name a few. This cruise line focused on the Spanish music only. Not good! Music should always be a mixture to entertain ALL guests, not just a select few.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Oliver and Michael in the Marco Polo dining room were great- no problem with them at all!
Adeline- cabin steward was great- no problem with them at all!
As for guest relations- THEY HAVE DEPLORABLE ATTITUDES AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. They too, need to go back for training. We addressed several issues with them, from toilet that would not flush, overflowing sink, bathroom that floods after each shower and at all times, guest relations personnel were condescending, rude, offered no assistance. Only one manager days later actually took the time to speak with us and still, the resolution was not satisfactory.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Simply put, the ship is old. It seems like there was an attempt to start refurbishing it but then it stopped. They did not do a go job keeping the buffet areas clean, from the slippery floors to dirty tables. Some staff appeared lazy.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was ok. The bathroom had plumbing issues- overflowing sink and toilet wouldn't flush.
Ship tip
DO NOT SAIL ON MSC! You will be happier sailing on Costa, Carnival, Royal Carribean, NCL, or any other cruise line where they know how to treat customers and make then want to return.
Also LOL at your music review. Did you go to the disco, literally at all? There was tons of "carribean" music as you want to call it. The silent disco had 70s music. They taught a merengue classes.......with merengue music. The band sang bob marley. Sad they will get a bad review on this because maybe you don't know how to listen to music, or went to bed at 8pm each night to miss the events. Which included an adult game show, which they had on 2 different nights. Apparently reading the planner each day was difficult. Very sorry you had the worst week of your life on here, we decided to enjoy it. Have a great one!
There was an omelette station. Right outside, with a woman who took your order on a paper.
There were tacos every single day at lunch buffet with tortillas, cheese, sour cream, and a meat.
Probably a good idea on your next cruise to use nice words and maybe ask? We loved the omelettes. 👏
