Review summary

The hospitality of MSC's staff/crew is something to be noted and applauded. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. We loved the diversity on the ship, of both the passengers and crew. We dined in main dining room each evening and the staff there is outstanding (especially our waiters, Gerald & Paolo). We were pleased with our balcony cabin and grateful to have such a wonderful cabin steward, Faneja, who kept our room in tip top shape. Only downside was the size of the shower and the fact that water seeped into the rest of the bathroom no matter how careful we were. Wonderful spray park/splash pad for kids! Everyone seemed to be having fun on the pool deck. Great tunes. Attended and enjoyed most of the nightly theater shows. Our excursions with MSC were great and we enjoyed ourselves. We were very disappointed not to visit Cuba, however that is not MSC's fault. We felt that 1/2 day at Georgetown, Cayman Islands, was not fair compensation to replace 2 days in Cuba, especially since after the slow tender process we were only at 7 Mile Beach for 2 hours. Should've been at least a full day in a port.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth, and we were able to board the ship 2 hours before our designated time as they had open boarding. No wait in any lines at the Port of Miami.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was average, however the staff was on point - very courteous and efficient. Pizza was good, and the burgers were juicy. Raspberry gelato was my favorite. Nice touch that you can add your own sprinkles.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Great splash pad for kids!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were average, white party was fun, musicians and DJs were great.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Amazing programming for kids!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Outstanding service from our waiters (Gerald & Paolo) in the Anytime Dining Room. Amazing & friendly steward, Faneja. All the staff/crew were just lovely, minus 1 lady at the photo store.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Definitely dated and smaller, nothing that blew us away.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Room was very comfortable for 2 adults and 1 child. Very clean, excellent cabin steward. Loved the balcony. Bathroom shower was tiny and water leaked on to the floor.

Ship tip

Pack white clothes for their white party!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Vibrant, fun city.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Arch's Iguana & Marine Park and the beautiful beach break were highlights of our trip.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Stayed at the port and we had fun in the smaller pool. Paid minimum beverage/food to be in a more tranquil area. Big pool in the center was complete chaos.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Went to Playa Mia Grand Beach Park and had a wonderful time at Buccaneer Bay and the beach.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Visited one of our favorite beaches - 7 mile beach, which was perfect as usual. Only downside was the slow tender process and 1/2 day in port, which lead to only 2 hours at the beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was efficient and ahead of schedule. They even let families with kids and the elderly disembark a bit earlier. However, there was no need to leave at your disembarkation time if you were still lounging/eating (yes, they want you to eat breakfast), you can leave as late as you want, until the final disembarkation call.
