Review summary

I can't recommend this cruise due to the food and condition of the ship. Thermal suite doesn't work and everything needs to be refurbished.

Embarkation

Based on what I read I thought the embarkation would be different but the same lines

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The buffet was very limited for lunch & dinner. I had to eat pizza everyday because there was nothing I liked on the buffet. There needs to be more variety. Dinner was okay but nothing like I was use to on other cruise lines. Breakfast was good so I'd get up and make sure to eat a very large breakfast because I wouldn't be eating much for lunch or dinner.

Ice Cream Bar

2 out of 5

Same ice cream everyday (strawberry, chocolate, vanilla). Ran out by the last day.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
It's a small ship but does have mini golf & a kids pool. Used the fitness center but the first treadmill I tried wobbled so the equipment was old and not in good shape. The thermal suite beds never worked and the sauna only worked a couple of days. There were activities if you wanted to participate throughout the day.

Spa

1 out of 5

Most of the things in the thermal suite do not work. They kept telling us it would be fixed but it never was.

Gym

1 out of 5

Very old equipment. Treadmill wobbled so very unsafe.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Same thing over and over. The ship dancers & singers performed every night. Occasionally there would be a little difference in the nights show but became boring.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Children seemed to be having fun when we saw them.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was the best part of the cruise. Our dinner waiter was excellent. We didn't have to wait long for our food. He even brought us extra appetizers every night without us asking. He would try to make something special happen every night. The staff was friendly.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
This is a small and old ship. It was easy to get around if you went to one end or the other to use the stairwell. The middle stairs did not go to the lido deck.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabins are extremely small and dated. They need to be remodeled. This cabin looked out onto a lifeboat. We wanted inside but got "upgraded" to this cabin which allowed light but definitely a terrible view. The first thing we said when we walked in was tiny. I took a shower in the spa because the shower in the cabin was too small. I was constantly attacked by the shower curtain.

Ship tip

Do not sail on this ship if you want luxury or good food.

Cruise terminal is nice. Did not do an excursion.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Nothing to do. We were there such a short time that we didn't get catch our scuba diving excursion because it took us too long to tender ashore. Never tendered here before.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Great beach day. Did a massage on the beach which was good. Purchased a package of beach chairs, wifi and 1 drink which was a good deal.

Cozumel, Mexico

Great docking downtown. Spent the day shopping.

HAVANA, CUBA

Main reason we took this cruise. Great location in the old town to disembark. Did a bus tour the 1st day to see the city. Booked an antique car tour second day and loved seeing the city.

Disembarkation

Pretty easy to get off
