Review summary

I've been on much better cruise lines. We had to pay for everything (even water) and the food was subpar. Marseille France and Olbia Sardinia were the worst ports. There was absolutely nothing to do their. Limited entertainment. Average age of guest was 70. Overall, we had to make our own fun (on and off the boat).

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Horrible if you have a refined pallet and know what good food taste like.

Onboard Activities

None

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Cheap low budget shows. Casino is OK. Night club full of senior citizens or empty. Karaoke was cool but they only did it twice (not every night).

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were lovely and welcoming.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
A little old. Cabins can use a makeover

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Clean but needed an upgrade

Ship tip

Buy the drinks package or sneak liquor on board. Buy water at every port. The free vending water taste horrible and water at dinner is 3 Euros

Theres nothing to do in Salerno. Take the 16 Euro ferry boat over to Amalfi. Well worth it. I attached the photo below

I agree with the review. Just came back from the same itinerary and Palma, Ibiza and Olbia are not places I would choose to visit. Nothing to do.

The food is not good, it was very disappointing. I have been to 7 other cruises so feel I am qualified to judge. The entertainment was laughable, basically the same routine with different costumes. The dancers were terrible.

They make it very obvious that they just want your money for everything. If you enquire what to do at a port of call all they will suggest is to book an excursion. Other cruises I have been to have a much greater variety of food choices such as Mexican bar, sushi, unlimited ice cream, etc. Armonia you have to pay for ice cream, the juices dispenser is only available in the morning afterwards it is shut off and covered, the coffee at the pool cafeteria is horrible (probably to make you go to the cafes and pay for coffee), they do not offer coffee at dinner. Trying to eat at the cafeteria is very difficult since people are everywhere and then there is no place to sit. Not many activities onboard either and most are by the pool so you have to compete for a seat with all the pool goers. The ship is way too small and you are always bumping into people, waiting in line or looking for a place to sit. My cabin was not great either and was not well serviced. The hand soap dispenser did not work and even after mentioning to room steward he only replied he had already told his supervisor (seemed it had been that way for a while), he never filled the tissue dispenser, I had to go search for toilet paper several times because he did not change it, and the list goes on. Will not be choosing MSC again will stick with bigger ships too and newer ones.

I have been to both Olbia and Marseille with other Ships. I liked both places. Maybe you should look beter?

Thanks for posting your first review here.  It is the European custom to drink bottled water so the Italian cruise line follows that custom.  We Americans are not used to that so it bothers us.  I bring packets of lemonade mix with me on cruises since often the water is very chlorinated especially the first day.  Thanks for posting your photo.  Your tip for Salerno was good.
