Mariner of the Seas was a beautiful ship by GerryD3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Mariner of the Seas is a beautiful ship. It took nearly a week to see everything on board. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, they seemed to care that you were enjoying your experience. There was so much to do onboard that you couldn't become bored. The cruise Director was amazing she managed to attend most functions and stopped to chat when you ran into her. The cabins were small and worn but clean. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. After our first night we complained to ou attendant that one mattress was two inches lower than the other making the queen bed even more uncomfortable. They replaced the mattress and it was better but not great. They ran out of tea and sometimes the food was not up to par. One morning my husband's milk was sour and it took three containers to find a good one. All in all I'm not sure I would go on the Mariner again.

Many small things in the over-all design enhanced the general superior atmosphere of the ship.

It is amazing how in 7 short days passengers go from complete strangers to good friends planning future vacation plans together. Something magical happens onboard.

A fantastic cruise by AnnetteA

I really enjoyed sailing on the Mariner of the Seas. The ship is just beautiful. Lots of dining choices. The cabins are a bit small but then again how much time do you spend in your cabin. The dining room staff was the best I have ever encountered. Our waiter made it a point to remember all of our names. The shows I saw were very good especially the ice skating show. It was amazing what they could do on a small rink.

What an awesome cruise by SC76499147

Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We recently went on the Mariner of the Seas and I can only say that it was fantastic. The checkin process was smooth and simple, we boarded 5 hours prior to sailing and checked out the ship and had a relaxing lunch. The ship is huge! I don't think we saw everything. We went without the kids and loved that the ship had a solarium designated to adults only. There we could relax and enjoy poolside. The promanade was terrific. It was truly a focus of the ship, absolutely gorgeous. Our stateroom was fantastic, much different than the cruises were we on in the past. We had a balcony which we absolutely loved. Service was prompt and excellent and there was wonderful entertainment as well. There is truly something for everyone, from a movie theater, library, internet acess and structured activities for the kids as well as adult entertainment and a large casino. Next time we want to take the kids-they would have a fantastic time.

A GREAT TIME by BobR13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a great time. It was our first cruise and we will do it again. Ship was huge but easy to get around and well laid out. Even though there were 3500 plus passengers on board we never felt crowed or rushed.

Exceptional, as usual for RCCL by CarlR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Mariner is one of the largest ships in the World, but has been designed to be location friendly to passangers with restaurants and others services easily located throughout the ship. We were on a wedding cruise and the staff could not of been any more accomidating in assisting with our needs. Even though large, you can still find many intimate locations to have personal time away from the crowd. We loved the main street shopping center within the ship, with pricing more than competative with shore shops. Our outside balcony room was large with more storage for clothing and other items than other ships we have been on. Since this was a wedding cruise, we did not personally take advantage of the broadway shows, but those also with us advised us that they were great. The alternative dining was five star, except for the Windjammer cafe, where the food was excellent, but hectic and hard to find a table during lunch and breakfast.

a wonderfully relaxing experience by FaithT

Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas is a gorgeous ship. When walking on the Royal Promenade, we felt like we were walking through a shopping mall. It didn't even seem like we were on a ship. You could stay as busy as you wanted or just totally relax. There were many activities to choose from every day. All of the crew that served us, from room stewards to the dining staff, were exceptional. Cruising is definitely the way to go!

A decent cruise by ChrisC22

Second time on the Mariner. I live in Orlando, so I love the convenience of Port Canaveral. Ship is really nice and spacious. Just seems like RCCL has gotten a little cheap. The Crown & Anchor stuff was el cheapo. Constant reminders about gratuities becomes nauseating. Sodas, ice cream, Johnny Rockets, alternate dining, children's club after 10pm were all extra $$. And full cruise ticket price for a 1 year old baby?? Shame on RCCL for that. Our one year old doesn't eat anything or make a mess worthy of a full fare.

NOT AS GOOD OCT. 13, 2023 by sgraer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas

Food quality and quantity definitely not as good as it used to be. Ship is older but well maintained and service in the dining room and cabins is still exceptional. Since RC started promoting " children are free " and pushing family vacations, the number of small children onboard has increased dramatically. Parents bring kids into the lounges, shows and dining room which can be very disturbing when they cry or run around. Wasn't very relaxing at times.
