We won’t sail Mariner again. It was overall disappointing and gross. The things we loved can be done on better, updated ships.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
I will say embarkation was a hot mess with the draw bridge being stuck and adding a delay. We had the Key and that is the reason for the extra two stars.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Main dining was terrible. We bought the unlimited dining. Waste of money. The only meal that was great was one a Jamie’s. The next night we went back and it was a far cry from the night prior.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Not a lot to do. On other RCCL cruises, we had back to back activities. This cruise seemed like the cruise director was not interested in doing his job!
Entertainment
There were no shows that were interesting to us.
Children's Programs
We’re 55.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Our room steward was pretty good. Although they only come by the one time.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Nope! We absolutely will not be sailing on Mariner again.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
The separater wall on the balcony broke. The kids from next door walked onto our balcony a few times. Super awkward. We had a night of storms and water blew into our sleeping area. The carpet was drenched. The smell in the room was nearly unbearable. They had nowhere to move us so we had to suck it up. The room was dirty and very outdated. Nasty stains were all over the couch.
Ship tip
Don’t do it. We enjoy smaller ships better than larger but we won’t be traveling on Mariner again.
The Nassau stop was good. There were a lot of ships in port with us so it was very crowded. Our excursion got cancelled because of the blue lagoon ordeal. We were disappointed, but felt that RC made the right call.
I had a completely different experience when we were on Mariner. Everyone in our party loved it from start to finish. We have 2 more cruises with Mariner already booked. Even if everything isn't perfect all the time we've never not enjoyed every moment on board any ship we were ever on on any cruise line.
You mention other RCL cruises on other ships in your review yet even this sailing isn’t even listed on you past cruises let alone the other ones you mention. Skeptical 🤔
