Poorly executed cruise. Bermuda tour was excellent.
Embarkation

We had to wait three hours after boarding to enter our cabin.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Main dining room was terrific. The buffet was consistently inedible.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Ice skating show was excellent. Quiz contents were poorly done and all were standing only. The bow and arrow experience was childlike. We would not find a good quiet place to read except for the tiny library.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Ice skating show was good. The venue for shows is tiny. If you don't get there 30 minutes prior you're out of luck, no seats.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Dining room waiters were outstanding, very accommodating. Buffet waiters were oblivious of our presence.
We could not get their attention to get beverage service. There is no serve yourself beverage service.
Room service and the cabin steward ignored our requests for clean glasses. The steward cleaned our drinking glasses in the bathroom sink, UGH!
Our telephone never worked. It was reported four times, and "repaired" three times, but never worked, A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

Cabin / Stateroom

Enormous with great storage and lot of light. A large balcony.
We had a queen bed that was not comfortable. Both sides sloped toward the edges and it was not soft. Overall, an inexcusable sleeping experience.
We were told not to drink the cabin water as it contained too much chlorine in it. We didnt want to pay $3.00/- for 12oz of water so remained dehydrated the entire trip.
The TV is tiny. It's hard to see from anywhere in the cabin.
There are only two 12V outlets in the entire cabin.
The Dockyard is not worth your 30 minutes to explore it. Overpriced merch. in the shops.
A private 5 hour tour of the Island was great although the mini bus had not air conditioning.
Cruised on the mariner on 9/24 and had nothing that you mentioned. There are plenty of self serve drinks in the windjammer. You just have to get up. The shows had plenty of seats. The only place we couldn’t find a seat was in schooner bar.
Thanks for the review. This is an older ship and it’s not up to the same level of the newer, larger ships. I’m not sure how much you have cruised previously, but unless you are in a suite, cabins are rarely available before 1 PM. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone complain about the cabinet steward cleaning the drinking glass in the bathroom. Most people complain if it is not cleaned or replaced. The water in the bathroom and throughout the ship should be fine to drink, unless you were told by crewmembers once you boarded the ship there was an issue. If the bed is not comfortable for you, you can usually ask for a foam topper that will solve the issue.
