Review summary

The worst experience ever! The rooms were disgusting, the guest relations were condescending and rude. We were treated with disrespect and accused of being liars. My husband is disabled and they did not make any effort to accommodate him or make our experience a positive one. We are so dissapointed and disgusted with the treatment we've received from Royal Caribbean.

Guest relations were awful. Condesending, and accused me of lying about the mold smell in my room and then the urine smell in the one they moved us too. Despicable!!!

The first room we were in smelled of mold and our all of our clothes were damp because of the dampness of the room. They accused us of making that up but as a "courtesy" moved us to another room. The other room was as far away from everything as possible. My husband is disabled but the they didn't care that he would not be able to access anything because it was so far away. This next room smelled so horrible of urine. Come to find out that put us two doors down from a mechanical room that processes the sewage. They did nothing to make it right. I vomited and had to sleep with an K95 mask at night to try and block the rancid odor. The staff made no effort to resolve this matter for me or my disabled husband. We were treated with such disrespect. I've contacted the cruise line since we arrived back home. They have been of no help either and want to offer us $100 off of our next cruise. Talk about adding insult to injury!!! I will never ever cruise on Royal Caribbean again and a strongly suggest you don't either. There are much better cruise lines out the that truly respect you and want to make it the best experience ever. Our experience on the Mariner of the Seas left us feeling more stressed and sick then when we boarded the ship. Such a shame and a waste and so unfortunate that Royal Caribbean is not taking any responsibility for it.

Ship tip

Don't go!!! Try another cruise line. Oceania is the best.

In defense of the poster, sometimes there are smells. On my last cruise on carnival, the other end of the deck from my cabin literally smelled like a homeless camp. I don't know if anyone else noticed it. But if my cabin was at that end, I would not have been a happy camper. However, a room so damp that your clothes are damp... I am inclined to think they brought damp musty clothes onboard with them.

I have been on several Royal Caribbean. Cruises and always been treated with respect. Never had a problem with my cabin or any spot on the ship. Always excellent and I am Loyal to Royal.

Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations and had so many negative situations.

We have cruised with Royal many times and never experienced anything like this with them. You could always try Carnival, they are the worst! 😳

Thanks for the review. Sounds like cruising is probably not something for you.
