The cruise overall was great and we had lots of fun. We did lots of onboard activities like the flo rider, bingo, ice skate, pool, slides and more; but there should be more ice skating sessions and additional family shows.
Our main disappointment is the on site covid testing procedures. My kids are now sick and I'm sure it was from one of the 2 instances my daughter went to get tested. Our other disappointment was that we were promised on board credits and were not able to use (but this was an issue with travel and not royal). However, Royal didn't seem to care much and were not a lot of help.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
The embarkation process was very poor overall. My daughter had to do the covid testing since she is not vaccinated. We had to unload all the luggage, do a huge line to get to the terminal, and went to an enclosed room to wait for the covid results. Lots of people were coughing and sneezing and without a mask. The results took over an hour to arrive and we embarked super late. It took about 3 hours total.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The lunch buffet was not that good and there was not a lot of selection of snack type food around the ship (healthy and gluten free) outside the breakfast/lunch/dinner times.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pools were very small and crowded, but we also enjoyed rock climbing, flo rider, ice skating, slide. Recommendation: Add more pool tables!! I only saw one and was very small and always taken.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The ice show was great and the bands and performers we saw were great. But I believe there should be a bigger selection of shows (it was very limited)
Children's Programs
My kids are 8 and 14 and even though they have a big difference in age, they did not want to separate and be on their own with other kids they do not know.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The waiters Evangeline and Mario of the main dining room (level 5) were amazing!
My disembarkation overall was not bad, but what was really poor was the logistics of the covid test we had to do to disembark the next day. The line took an hour and it was in a very enclosed area. Lots of kids were coughing and sneezing. The process and protocols for covid testing are extremely poor.
