Review summary
This was our second Royal Caribbean cruise, first post covid. Have previously been on the Liberty of the Seas in 2017. Embarkation was quick and easy. There was a pretty decent line but it moved quickly. Loved the new online muster vs the old way. So much less time consuming. I knew going in this was an older and smaller ship than some of the new ones, but still plenty to do. Food - we did most of our dining in the windjammer. Most of the food was great, but a little repetitive. Staff was very helpful. My son has a tree nut allergy, and when asking about the dessert ingredients, they called the chef to come out and quickly verified what was nut free. I appreciated this greatly. We have a couple breakfasts in the Cafe Promenade, they have good breakfast sandwiches, my son loved the donuts and muffins. One dinner in the main dining room, we had “my time dining” we waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated. Service was great and fast. The food was delicious. My son raved at the seafood cakes. One dinner at Chops Grill and it was amazing! Best dinner on the cruise by far. Entertainment - we did lots of trivia and loved that. The staff made everything a good time. We went to three shows. A magic show, the farewell variety show, and another I can’t remember the name. All great. I missed the Elton John tribute show but did catch some of his act in the farewell show and he was amazing. I wish I had been able to catch his main show. The nightly piano player/singer in Schooner bar was great, we were there twice and had a great time singing along. Though the material got repetitive, he was great. We caught a few movies on the pool deck and in the theater. Ports of Call- we really could have done this cruise without spending a dime on excursions. We did buy a island day in Labadee, which was fun and relaxing. We also reserved a beach bed in Coco Cay on the chill island side. The bed was great, the beach beautiful. We got floating matts and water. Though next time I would reserve a cabana closer to the oasis pool. This was our favorite. It is huge, and you can find a quiet spot, or go towards the bar for a more party atmosphere. Disembarkation was also quick. We were off and on our way earlier than expected. Overall it was a great vacation. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly.Embarkation
