Review summary

First time to ABC Islands. Ship had about 80% capacity. My opinion is that was too many at this time with covid. Both my husband and I tested positive on our return. Several other passengers were also positive. Need to go back to wearing masks indoors and in crowded spaces. But overall we had a lovely time on the cruise itself

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR staff was excellent although it took a little longer for dinner. Not enough staff to accommodate the number of passengers. Food was good. Did not go to specialty restaurants. Windjammer had a good selection of food.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did not use pool. Too many people for me. Solarium was always packed with people too. My son used the rock wall and my daughter the Flowrider and each had little to no lines.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
0ur waitstaff was great along with our cabin stewardess. Any requests we made were always accommodated.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout is good. Staff were constantly cleaning the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Was enough room for my daughter and I. Plenty of storage. First time in an interior cabin and I did not feel claustrophobic.

Ship tip

Mid size ship. If you're not looking for all the bells and whistles of the mega ships this is a good one. Enough activities not to be bored.

Disembarkation

Back to the old ways of congregating in a common space. It was easy enough when you're group was called.

I agree, too many passengers for size of ship, with COVID still going on. We put off this cruise for two years due to COVID. I had hopes that it had died down. Not on this ship. I tested positive this morning, and have had 3 boosters shots. Guess cruising isn't as safe as I thought. I do feel the crew have done well to keep it clean to the best of there ability. COVID is a nightmare in control!!! Hope you both are feeling better.

Thanks for your review! I agree with you, I also tested covid positive the day after I dissembarked the Mariner on my April cruise...I've been negative for the past two years up until boarding and the end of the cruise...Then, I started to feel sick right. after I got back home. Many people onboard had also sickness symptoms...
