Check-in desk staff were rude and miserable. We were screamed at to stand in line for 20 minutes during the safety drill. Horrible first impression.

Onboard Activities

Stood in line for 45 minutes for the ice skating show, only to be told they weren't having the show. They made an "error" on their cruise app by listing the show. There is absolutely nothing to do if you get stuck at sea for one day. The cruise activities are minimal and there is never enough to keep 3800 people engaged for the day. If you have a complaint or need help, you are welcome to stand in 60 minute wait line to speak with their poorly staffed help desk.

My kids are 10 and 12, and they were horribly bored. The basketball court was always far too packed to join in. The clubs or hangout areas for their age groups were rarely open.

We were given the wrong room. Nobody cared! I had also pre-purchased the drink plan and it wasn't honored. I was told it would be $20 more per person per day because they didn't have any record that it had been pre-purchased.

No room at all. We were told there was plenty of room for 3 people in these cabins. We were like sardines in a can. booked us the wrong rooms and did nothing about correcting the error.

I once had them tell me they had no record of my drink package purchase and a couple other purchases, I produced my confirmations and it was adjusted immediately, along with a complementary gift for my troubles, patience, and understanding that sometimes errors happen. I even received exemplary service at 3 am drunk when I booked an excursion for the next day on a drunken whim.... I find this entire review extremely hard to believe

Always keep copies of the emails when you purchase something. I've never found the drinks to be weak but I guess it depends what you're used to.

Thatā€™s strange about your room and drink package. Seeing as you can prove you bought the drink package on the app, website, or in the emails they send you after you buy them. It sounds like you bought your cruise through a shit travel agent that ā€œgaveā€ you all the ā€œupgradesā€ only to find out they didnā€™t. Then you got mad (and most likely rude) at the RC staff when they told you they couldnā€™t do anything to fix it. From the cruises we have been on with Royal Caribbean, the staff will bend over backwards for you to make things better, when you arenā€™t rude and you are reasonable with your expectations. I also find it hard to believe that there was nothing to do for your kids. We have not been on this ship before but even the smaller ships have tons to do for the kids, pools, slides, kids clubs, exploring and making friends with other kids.

When booking a cruise, you choose the cabin unless you choose the guarantee cabin. You chose the ship and the itinerary. Most Royal Caribbean ships have lots to do all the time and great food and service. Not sure about your complaints, maybe you need to choose a different vacation option.

It definitely sounds like cruising is not for you. Most people love it, but itā€™s not for everyone. Other cruisers have rated the ship 4 and 5 stars, so when I see someone complaining about everything in writing most things with 1 star, that tells me much more about the attitude of the reviewer than it does about the actual cruise ship.

Sounds like a troll from another cruise line. We were on Mariner in October. Had none of these issues
