Review summary

Royal continues to be my favorite cruise line. This was my boyfriend's first RCCL and he was thoroughly impressed with them too.

Embarkation

Port Canaveral has their system streamlined. I've always had smooth and quick embarkation there. Wish all the ports were that easy. Generally from the time we arrive at the terminal we are on the ship in 20-30 mins...if that long.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Johnny Rockets

2 out of 5

I felt like Johnny Rockets was overpriced. The toppings are what makes their burgers good. I have a hard time believing their fresh never frozen sales pitch. Burgers looked like thinly pressed together layers of meat. Same with the chicken. It tasted like a rubbery thin slice of microwaved chicken. And I have no idea what all the fuss is about for their $6 milkshakes. Seemed to me it was Hershey syrup and vanilla ice cream stirred up in a cup. On the upside...their onion rings are delicious!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is probably the first time (after 6 cruises) that all the public restrooms I used were clean and functional every single time.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a spacious balcony. Couldn't really tell a difference in the room or balcony over a regular balcony. Always clean though. Plenty of storage. I love the sliding doors on the balcony and the showers. No slamming balcony doors and no shower curtains sticking to me. Yuck!

Ship tip

Have lunch ANYWHERE besides the Windjammer on embarkation day. Especially if you have anxiety issues! This is a given though for any ship but just a friendly reminder...lol

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We went to Blue Lagoon and done the stingray encounter. That itself wasn't all that great but it was the cheapest way to get to Blue Lagoon. It was $30 cheaper per person than just the plain ole beach day! Back at Nassau we walked up to Fort Fincastle and the Queens Staircase. That was an interesting experience. Dealing with the locals is always a hassle but they're just trying to make a living and survive just like the rest of us.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Just a beach day. Nothing special for us. But we're not much for just laying in the sun and baking.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, Port Canaveral has this process streamlined. Nobody ever wants to leave the ship and go home but I guess if we have to, this is pretty quick and easy.

Always glad when someone has a good cruise. I believe the crew on RCCL are some of the best if not the best at sea.
