Review summary

This was a trip of a life time! Oceania chose the best itinerary (although planning during Jewish holidays was probably not the best timing) to see the best of Italy, Greece, Israel, and Cyprus. Cruising on Oceania is a dream. The food is the best you can find on a ship, the comforts are of high standards, as is the service. The only thing I would improve is the scheduling of the flights. They should have arrived a little earlier to we didn't have to stress getting to the ship, as the port is over an hour away. Other than that...thank you Oceania. It was a dream come true!

Embarkation

Our flights were so tight in scheduling that we were practically the last to arrive. Could not enjoy any of Monte Carlo.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Each and every food venue was outstanding! You will be completely satisfied be it the buffet, the grand dining room, room service, the specialty restaurants, the high tea, the juice bar...all of it!

Privee

5 out of 5

No other buffet compares to Oceania's! The food was fabulous! Seating inside, or out...we loved the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the feeling of being most welcome. Salute to the Executive Chef!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Trivia is always a favorite! We were so busy with being off the ship, we missed a few favorites. However, we managed to squeeze everything we could; lectures, pool, spa, fitness classes, high tea, miniature golf, and a couple of the shows.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only managed to fit in a couple of the shows. We were so busy during the day, we were to exhausted to stay up for the shows. What we did see was enjoyable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone on Oceania is always so inviting, this time no exception. The staff in every direction is wonderful! Shout out to Ray, the concierge. He was very helpful with changing our dinner reservations.

Ship Quality

Common areas lovely. Everything was clean, and sparking.

Cabin / Stateroom

Size seemed a little tight but comfortable. The closet space could be a little larger. We had clothes for the two weeks, and had to add more hangers. We had an issue with the tile floor in the bathroom; the tiles were cracked, and water kept seeping up every time we walked on them.

Ship tip

Go for the concierge level. We booked a different level on this voyage due to traveling with others, and they did not want to opt for the higher priced level. We sure did miss the little extras we had on the concierge level. We won't be making that mistake again.

Ports of call

Monte Carlo, Monaco Did not visit port

Arrived to the ship so late there was not enough time. Oceania's flight booking was very tight.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
Fantastic! We opted to visit Siena, and San Giminano...it was the perfect Livorno port visit!

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Visiting Rome while the Trevi was operating was a good thing! Last time it was under repair. Being in the city is busy. If you've never been, Rome is a must. If you've been before...try something different.

Sorrento, Italy

5 out of 5
THE best part of our excursions! Hired a private skipper, and motor boat for an Amalfi coast excursion; Amalfi, Positano, Grotto...views of Capri...all while on the gorgeous blue waters. It was heaven!

Iraklion (Heraklion), Crete

4 out of 5
It was nice to just do what we wanted without a pre planned excursion. We hired a car to take us around the city, and had a great day viewing castles, and shopping!

HAIFA (JERUSALEM), ISRAEL

4 out of 5
The history alone is a reason to see Israel. It was a bit disappointing to know Oceania chose the time to visit this port during the high holy Jewish holidays, Many areas were closed, and what we did see was not so pleasant in the Arab areas. Floating in the dead sea was magnificent as was praying at the Walling Wall. Once in a lifetime!!

Limassol, Cyprus

5 out of 5
We had a great tour of the town of Cyprus, and the Greek ruins along with great shopping.

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
Without even taking an excursion we made way to the old city. We also so the new city but the old city is where it's happening! Loved every bit of it!

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

3 out of 5
We left for the airport as soon as we departed from the ship. The best part of this was the club at the airport!

Disembarkation

Would like to have been sitting in the lounge for disembarkation. Next time.
