After the terrible start, we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise.

Embarkation

Purchased airport transportation from Oceania. Arrived at Los Angles airport approximately 1 PM. Saw the agent for the transport at baggage claim, checked in with her, and quickly picked up luggage. 10 minutes or less later the bus had departed and we were told another bus was coming. Over 4 hours later a bus finally came. We spent much of this 4 hours outside at the bus pickup area. After finally getting on a bus we arrived at the Port around 7 PM. We had to move our luggage upstairs to Oceania check-in. This was a chore and one lady fell on the escalator. The Oceania agent that checked us in did not apologize for the terrible result but explained that the Port personnel that should have handled our luggage left at 6 PM due to union regulations. We did receive a refund from Oceania for the cost of the transportation to the ship; however, this did not offset the terrible start to our cruise. A few apologies would have been nice along with an assurance that steps were taken to prevent a repeat of this failure.
