Great cruise by courtney2013

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Overall the ship was great and we would sail on it again. There’s a few kinks that need to be worked out, but nothing major enough for us to complain about. Be ready to hear lots of passengers complaining. It was very annoying. How can you complain while on a cruise?? We had a good time and it was nice to finally be cruising again.

Same cruise, different experience by byhisgrace

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

This was our 2nd time on this cruise and it was a very different experience. We sailed the first time in January of this year and it was great with less people. The wait for food was long, this time has way more kids and it was so hard to find a seat, they were grabbing food from the buffet with their hands, knocked down a staff member running through the hall. Some parents just kinds let their children run wild with little to no supervision. We had a different cruise director and it wasn't as entertaining. Overall, it was a decent time but it did not compare at all to the first one

amazing ship, great staff, beautiful rooms, clean, everything is new and modern! the only thing is is that the ship is SO BIG! there’s so many people and so many floors it’s so easy to get lost!! by cammymarie12

amazing week, great entertainment! mardi gras is a very popular ship, so be prepared for long lines and lots of people - and getting lost! servers and food was decent some nights, but it was spectacular for the most part :))

Great experience by achilles505

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was great. The ship is beautiful and offers many activities. It was good to be on a ship that was as relatively full and the passengers were of all ages. Since Covid I have been on too many ships where the passengers predominantly over 70. Unlike some I like to see young people around. It adds a fun vibe to the trip

1st Time Cruise by smwdavidson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We are hooked on Cruising! No sea sickness with so much fun. We were moving from morning to late night with so many activities and dining choices. Of you always had some relaxation time at the pools. Again, so many to pick from. Then you have your port of calls that just makes it so much more exciting!

I'd do it again with one change. by Leonardw2021

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

I will start out by saying that my cruise was the one where the man went overboard and it is very scary to be woken in the middle of the night with that announcement. First thing you do is make sure your family is accountable. Then relief and then sadness for that person's family. I could even see sadness on the staff . I do think the crew handled as well as could be expected but the crew members that I came in contact with were clearly shaken by this tragic event. Even with the disappointing food quality and lack of options on the buffet I would definitely go on the Mardi gras again. The staff was very friendly. The entertainment was the best of the 4 cruises I had taken. You can not possibly do it all . There were big shows at center stage every night while there was a show going on in the theater. There were 6 comedians on the ship. They also preformed at the same time but there shows started at 4PM and went until 10 or 11 I think I saw 4 out of the 6.. The venues were small for a ship this large probably why they had so much going on at the same time to separate the crowds. If you arrive 30 minutes early you should have no problem getting a decent seat.. The elevators downright sucked. No other way to put it. I actually took the stairs way more often than taking the elevators . Most activities happened floors 8-18 but only once did I do the 10 floor walk. Most the time it was a 3 or 4 floor walk. I will never do a cruise during spring break again. The kids run wild. The young kids were fine. The 16 years and above were fine but I'd say the maybe 12/14 year olds ran like there parents were not on board. They were even in the serenity area constantly so you could not get away . The ship itself is beautiful and I actually enjoyed walking around just looking and appreciating the ship. As you can see there are positives and negatives . For me the positives far outweighed the negatives. One thing I do hope is that carnival starts doing a better job with the food in the MDR and on the buffet. My next cruise I am actually going to try another cruise line simply to get better food quality. I hope this was helpful. I know I wrote a lot but it's a big ship

Incredible ship by JRChaney01

The Mardi Gras is an exceptional boat. Carnival does a great job with all aspects of the cruise. Our journey suffered a bit from staff shortages but the crew did everything to make our experience the best for everyone.

Great except never again during Spring Break by sharkey2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything was great except kids were out of control on this cruise running around with no parents around. Knocking on doors at all hours of the night. Just very hectic. Other than that it was a beautiful ship and smooth cruise

Crowned by Tribannie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A small music player would be ideal when in the room. Can use the phone but wanted it charged for the next day. Also would have liked more channels on the TV, like ESPN, MLB, etc.

Big ship Experience. by paultonyjr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Nice ship but too big for me. Fun shops were spaced out over three floors instead of the normal one floor for all of them. The fortuneteller was my favorite bar and had the greatest drinks I’ve ever seen in my life.

We found the ship to be very large with adequate seating. The slots could be looser.
