Review summary

Aside from not being accurately informed about the size and contents of the ocean view room, the cruise was lovely. We had good food, good company, and great weather.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Extreme confusion due to late arrival of ship. Poor organization in terminal. Three hours of standing--and finally sitting--waiting to embark.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Traditional dining was good.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Most not applicable for a 92 year old.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Enjoyable. Had to leave one show due to being too loud for this 92 year old.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room Steward Dewa was exceptional.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Room was extremely small, and extremely uncomfortable. Both the travel agent and the website showed this room having a soda. The room was so small you would have had to hang it from the ceiling. I am 92 years old and chose a room that had a connecting door to my son's room next door, but you could not open it more than about 3 inches. If I had a problem in the middle of the night, my son could not get in to help me. Failure to disclose both of these problems is false advertising.

Ship tip

Avoid the ocean view rooms. In addition to being tiny, they do not have a refrigerator.

Better luck next cruise

This is an older, smaller ship. There are several websites and multiple YouTube videos that will show you photos, diagrams, measurements and videos of the rooms. It’s always a good idea to research and know what to expect rather than be disappointed.

We stayed on deck for in an ocean view room and there was four of us with a sofa and a pull out from the ceiling we had plenty of room two bathrooms very nice and it also had a refrigerator.

All pictures of cabins have a disclaimer saying the actual room may appear different. If you ever cruise again research the ship before booking so you know what room you'll get. The lower deck rooms on Majesty are way too small for a sofa.

That ship was built before in room fridges were a option. Also if you get a obstructed view ocean view room on deck 8 you get about 40% more space for just 5 to 10% more cost.
