Review summary

We enjoyed the cruise but prefer the 7- day west coast trip. For us, 11 days with 7 days at sea was too many days on the ship, especially with not finding many activities we were interested in.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very good. Seattle has wonderful people helping at the pier.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet was, of course crowded much of the time. It was difficult to get a soda in a timely manner. Variety was great. Loved the taco bar with guacamole. And the salad bar was always fresh. We did often had to clean our own table and get our own drinks in the buffet area. Your oatmeal cookies are THE BEST! Dining room experience was excellent...good food and great service! We always enjoy the small food place in Piazza near the coffee bar. We tried the Italian (Pizza) restaurant. Wasn't one we would go back to.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We enjoyed the veterans meeting. Didn't do too many of the other things on the ship except some of the events in the Piazza. Princess used to offer photography classes, and other unusual opportunities like harmoica lessons. We miss the more educational events that teach about the places we are docking.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
We LOVE "The Voice." That was our favorite thing. We were very disappoined with much of the "entertainment." It seemed the average age of people on the cruise was around 65 and several of the presentations were not appealing. We walked out of about 5 of the presentations, with a number of other people. Couldn't understand the words of the singers, who really did have good voices, however. The choreography was very mechcanical, almost robotic. Thank you for "Encore" presentation. It was the one we stayed for the entire time. We actually knew a number of the songs. It seemed to be designed more for the age group of the audience.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was good. Ronie and Alfredo in the Concerto dining room were excellent. Most staff was very polite and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Yes, except the buffet area at meal times. Public bathrooms were always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Floor in the room was dirty when we arrived, but it got cleaned later. Mostly, was pretty clean. Size is good. Hallway needed to be vacuumed. We don't like the "automatic" lights that come on at night. They wake us up. I understand that is planned for "safety" but was really not conducive to a good night's sleep.

Ship tip

Go with patience. Be prepared for crowds. It's very large.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

It was very far away from anything, so we couldn't just get off the ship and walk a couple blocks.

Disembarkation

Very good. We love going into Seattle because they allow us to check our bags all the way through to our home destination. Makes traveling home much easier. We were off the ship in a short time and lots of taxis were waiting.

I agree with you about the “night light “ (It was more of a flood light! And because it was a motion sensor, it woke me in the middle of the night many times.) Majestic Princess was almost too big for me, but it was beautiful!
