It was a nice time despite one "rude guy" and some dining and elevator issues. There's always going to be issues. I was just happy to be there and make a vacation memory with my family.

Food and Dining

Medallion dining experience actually gets a 1 star at best. As soon as we got onboard I saw all my dining times were wrong and my specialty dining was changed from Crown Grill to Harmony. (I had spoken at length prior to the cruise with the medallion dining department so I assumed all was good.) Called the dining line several times, no answer. Went to Crown Grill where there was a line a mile long. Everyone had the same complaint. Waited an hour patiently. When I was second to the front the lady assisting said she was tired and wanted to take a break and could we call the dining line. Still, I tried to be patient and smile but insisted on speaking with her regarding Crown Grill. It took her two seconds to see I still had Crown Grill so not sure when it was different on my medallion. So wonderful. I was happy. That night was Crown Grill. I was very excited as I've heard wonderful things but never have gone. My party of 8 was seated together in a perfect spot which was pretty secluded. I was expecting two tables. So yay! So we were expecting slow service because that's how it is these days with lack of staff. I went to the bar to get a glass of wine and when I came back my ribeye was there but no accompanying beans, potatoes....it was ok. I asked and the server provided. There was a ton of pepper on my steak. I'm not a pepper girl. I asked if please I could have a steak without pepper. Yep, quickly one came back. But it was a sirloin. OK, maybe it was my fault for going to the bar for a glass of wine. I will try the Crown Grill again. BUT the whole time we were shuffled around from main dining room to main dining room never knowing where we were eating and never having the same server twice. I love having the same servers because they get to know you. The food, well, it was ok. I have cruised with Princess ten times, this probably being the poorest quality food. Princess usually is much much better. My father is also handicap so it was difficult being told we needed to go to another dining room at the back of the ship instead of the one midship- which is where we like to eat because we pay more for a midship cabin. BUT, still, it's rough on the crew these days. I get it. I only tried out the Lido a few times with my nephew when he was hungry through-out the day. Very good food. I loved that we could find a table no matter what the time was.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We participated in the ring toss, the Champagne toss, bean bag toss, the pool... I didn't understand how the Egg Hunt on Easter turned into a digital experience where you had to take selfies and find certain places. It was strange, but fun for a lot of people. The Piazza was nicely decorated for Easter- got some nice pictures with the family.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Didn't see the stage shows but the magician was good as was Carlos Oscar, the comedian. The best comedian we have seen on a cruise. Very clean, funny jokes. The Marriage game show was good. Deal or No Deal was fun. The Captain's Party was enjoyable. The guitar player who played in Crown Grill bar and in the Piazza was good. High Tide was good except I don't understand why they are mostly in the Vista Lounge. More room in the Piazza and so many people dancing. Harder to get that group on the Vista Lounge dance floor. Our group was never bored. Downtime was filled with cards and watching the beautiful ocean/ swells, looking for dolphins and whales and we were lucky enough to see both!
Children's Programs

My two kids (ages 7 and 9) love the kids clubs on cruises. There were several Easter activities and I like how they had something like the Princess Patter that outlined the day.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
This is hard question because some staff should five stars and one in particular needs to have stars removed he was so rude and full of himself. I saw the line for the tender in Cabo gathering after we anchored so I figured it was only a matter of time. It was 10:50, disembarkation was scheduled for I believe 11:15. I was about 50 or so people from the front of the line. This fellow who works for Princess came up to me and said he didn't know why we were all in line and we weren't in Mexico yet. Well, clearly we were but I know he meant that Mexico hasn't given us clearance yet. I asked if we were supposed to get out of line, his response- "I don't know, do what you want to do." OK, so who cares, what's it to this guy? I can stand for an hour if I want to, as could the other 300 of us- several people behind me. Plus because I could see the staff ready to give out tickets at the front, I decided to ignore this guy. He obviously had an inflated ego, the way he was talking to us. Oddly enough, less than two minutes later, the line moved forward and off we go. 8 tender tickets in hand within five minutes of "rude guy" bothering us for nothing. So tickets said to go mid ship and down to deck 4. Gathered my family including my handicap dad and off we went. Guy up top checked our tickets and said we were good to go. Downstairs the lady said, nope, you need a yellow sticker to be here. (I'm guessing shore excursion people or elite, who knows) anyways she said we need to go to back of boat. I asked if my dad and my mom could get off here since he was handicap, using a cane. Nope, she said. OK, fine, off we go. Turns out we missed our turn (group 5-9) they were on 10-15. Half of us got to go down and half had to stay up top. I guess half of us got down by "accident". Well, lo and behold, who shows up but "rude guy". He's in charge. He says we have to wait because we missed our group. I said it was ridiculous. He was flustered and couldn't explain himself. I explained why we were "late" because we were directed midship first. Nope, he wouldn't budge. He wouldn't let my husband and children and I return to my nephew, brother and parents upstairs.I asked if my handicap dad could be down with us. Nope. People in front of us were saying they would wait, let me father go on ahead. Nope. "rude guy" had no answers except for "no." So, my husband and kids and I turned around anyways and went back to the rest of my party. A few minutes later, "rude guy" came upstairs to deck 5 and continued to say we had to wait. Why couldn't we just join the flow of people leaving? It was absurd. So then one lady asks where she's supposed to go because she was group 4. Then someone asked about group 8. Everyone talking about being directed to the wrong areas. "rude guy" decided to place blame on other staff saying he would be talking to their supervisors. What? "rude guy" has accomplished nothing. I seriously think it was his first cruise, no pun intended. Anyways, he finally let my party and prior groups go. This never should have been an issue. It got way out of hand. I continued to see "rude guy" through out the cruise which was unfortunate. So, moving on...I think it was after Mazatlan the following day. We got onboard and I was with my little guy and parents, taking the elevator while the rest took the stairs. 10-12 in the elevator. It got stuck. Wouldn't move. So my dad's banging on the door with this cane- he's claustrophobic- come to find out others in the elevator were as well-one guy was trying to keep his wife calm by rubbing her back. We pushed the alarm, we found the phone...asked for immediate help. Within 5 min someone was saying they were working on the elevator and to hold on. Following that they said it would be moving up the floor 5 from 4 and opening. So it started moving and the doors opened. The elevator was not level with the floor and my dad tumbled out and a few others tripped out. My dad was OK. Everyone was OK. I can't believe nobody was there to assist on floor 5. Later I spoke with Guest Services to explain our experiences with "rude guy" Cabo tender debacle and the elevator incident. Bronwyn was the most superior staff member on the ship. She was attentive through-out. Sought us out everyday to check on us and visit. She's probably one of the best staff Princess has. 10 stars for Bronwyn. Oh, and she also knew "rude guy" before I said his name. She pointed him out to me and said there are several issues with him. Trying to talking to a lady to get time change for dinner was not very enjoyable. She snapped at us before we could get the words out. So, OK. Tough times for the crew.

Loved the Piazza, missed Crooners bar. Loved the bar Piazza. Very clean ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

Loved our cabin. We have gotten used to interior for four. Seemed a bit bigger than other ships' interiors but maybe it was just the layout being a bit different.
Straight to Stone Island. 15 years ago it was us and a small restaurant with buckets of Pacifico's. Now, wow! Hard to find space to maneuver around the tables, people, vendors...took a ride on a banana boat with my kids and nephew, played in the waves, my daughter got her hair braided, it was a fun enjoyable day.
Had fun at Walmart! Saw our favorite staff member Christine there. She was laughing at us because we didn't recognize her at first. Then we shopped around the flea market. It was Christine's birthday the following day, so my brother and nephew picked out a nice bracelet for her.
