Review summary

Great ports but wrong cruise line with horrible ship that was just launched in 2017 so it’s super disappointing but Mexico was great.

Food and Dining

Food was horrible and ruined the cruise. Food service staff was just as bad which was extremely surprising for Princess. We won’t be sailing with Princess for a while.

Alfredo's Pizzeria

4 out of 5

Alfredo’s was hands down the best part and only good food on this cruise ship. We ate there every day and after terrible main dining room and specialty dining dinners.

International Café

They made coffee with Hershey’s syrup and old espresso hahaha. This was truly hilarious and tasted disgusting. Also costed money. 🤣

Allegro Dining Room

Horrible. Disgusting. Dark and gloomy. Engines rumbling. Staff asleep and careless. Food old and cooked incorrectly on every attempt. We had a waiter named Sergio that was truly terrible.

Harmony

Got our money back because this was microwave food with no flavor and steaming slopppy mush. It was funny actually. And the manager of the restaurant told me I was wrong and that chicken bites were supposed to be tough because they are smaller. LOL. Holy crap this ship was bad. Needless to say we booked Royal Caribbean for Dec 2022.

Mostly bad, a couple good. Overall it felt like a ship where no one wanted to be there and they knew the quality of what they were doing was bad and it irritated them.

Our party of four was excited to try all 3 dining options with the service charge. I have to agree “Harmony” was the worst food experience we have had on our four cruises with Princess. We also demanded our money back. We are going on the Regal this fall and would like to try the Italian option. I hope it goes well. Don’t hold it against Princess, they have some wonderful options available. The international cafe was great!

Its obvious you were expecting something you were not entitled to and you are now berating the cruise line that said "no" to you. I just disembarked the ship and the were great and always saying hello or asking if I needed something. As far as the food is concerned, perhaps its wasn't cooked the way you would cook it, not that it was cooked improperly. Although I did not care for some of the food selections that were offered, that does not mean it was bad food. Perhaps PCL isn't the cruise line for you and on my 3 upcoming Princess cruises, it looks like I won't be having to listen to someone complain, complain, complain about everything. Although PCL isn't perfect, they aren't as bad as you have made them sound.

@Willwork4cruz - Unfortunately objectively the food was bad and the whole ship was buzzing about it. Anyone claiming otherwise simply wasn’t on this ship. Alfredo’s pizzeria was amazing, possibly best pizza we have ever had land or sea. The beef and seafood at the main dining and specialty restaurants was cooked improperly and the meat was bad as in old or prepared incorrectly. Nothing subjective about it, seafood was fishy and gross and I love seafood so I don’t mind fishy but this was disgusting. And my experience does match up with the OVERALL reviews of this ship which is bad food and sub par service.

Thanks for the review. Food is very subjective of course. I just read four other reviews from people who were on the ship with you. They all raved about the food and service. What was it about the food that you didn't like?

Everyone on our ship complained about the same horrible microwave quality of food. I’m 29 and just booked my 6th cruise, so I’m pretty sure I enjoy cruising. Just not with low budget companies like Princess/Carnival. I booked Royal Caribbean for Dec 2022

We did not experience your negative ratings of cruising, food. Or fun in our Majestic cruise to the same locals. Sorry this did not meet your expectations. Maybe cruising is not your type of vacation.
