Review summary

Alaska is very beautiful. I was happy to have seen it. Would have like better weather but it was a cold, rainy, windy August week, weather I usually cruise to escape.

Ship experiences

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small stateroom for a Balcony. Even Carnival puts a couch in the balcony staterooms.

Ship tip

If sailing Alaska, bring plenty of warm clothing to wear on the ship. It is not heated well.

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

We learned about gold mining which was interesting. Again, the weather was cold & rainy so it limited our enjoyment of this port. Actually the best port for shopping & Tracy’s Crab Shack was great!

Ketchikan, Alaska

Might want to choose the Lumberjack show instead of the expensive Misty Fjords.

Skagway, Alaska

Train excursion showed us beautiful scenery. Not much of a city to shop in & it was too windy so we went back to the cold ship.
