Review summary

After a very tiring flight, we got on board and discovered a very well worn room.  There was no place to plug in our CPAPs for sleeping.  We had informed the cruise line that this was necessary.  Our cabin steward had to get an extension cord and tape it across the floor.  The bathtub was peeling and very difficult to get in and out of.  The crew was very nice and we enjoyed meeting so many interesting people.  The docking for the ship was far from the communities and required a bus ride or shuttle to get to anything.  We loved our tours and I particularly enjoyed going into the bush to see kangaroos and koalas.  For anyone planning to go, give yourself an extra day or two at the beginning of the cruise to be over jet lag by the actual departure day.

This ship is simply old and needs to be refurbished. It was clean, but places to plug in needed appliances were lacking.

Ship tip

The elevators are pretty fast. It is easy to get around this ship because it is not too big. Can't go aft to forward on deck seven. Public areas are roomy and well cared for.

Give yourself a couple of days prior to cruise date to be able to enjoy this city and to be ready for the cruise.

Tauranga, New Zealand Did not visit port

Be sure you know that tour times change. We were prepared for an 11am tour that actually went at 7:30am. We were so worn out from travel that we could not go.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

Happy to read that for the most part your needs were taken care of.  I hope that you mentioned the peeling paint on the bathtub in your survey. I agree with you about taking an extra day before your cruise to get over jet lag.

I also have a cpap and travel quite a bit between vacations and work I spend about 120 nights a year away from home. I always carry a small extension cord and/or a power strip with me. It is a good idea to be ready for most hiccups in your trip.
