Compared to previous cruises with Holland America, this cruise was very poor.

Review summary
Cuts in crew and activities was very prominent. Dining room standards were not as high as previously experienced. Show entertainment was deplorable. A lady ventriloquist one evening was more suitable to a child's birthday party. While cuts had been made (to keep the company profitable) Holland America expected the same gratuities.
Ports of call were vey good and interesting. Generally food was less interesting, and not served very well. Too few staff, working at more speed to get the job done.

Ship tip
The dining room for breakfast was not very good. Long waits so people would go to the lido buffet which was always crowded. The staff did their best under the circumstances but management have taken a dive in there efforts to cut corners. Once Holland America was like floating Hilton. It is now
