Good Cruise by tobyretired

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The rooms were very nice and spacious.  The sit down meals were very good thanks to our waiter Law -=- tentative and very pleasant also Benedict served us with a smile and remembered what we liked without having to repeat each night.  Our room was keep immaculate by a great guy Winston (cabin 6658).

The salad bar in the Windjammer could use some sprucing up -- not much variety -- basically the same for every lunch.

Staff by baumanj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff at the free restaurants with the pizza and subs was very rude.  They refused to refill my husbands drink cup tell him they was to busy to go elsewhere.

Guest Services refused to help during a time of need.  We had a death in the family while on the cruise and asked for assistance and they refused to help.

We did enjoy our vacation even with these bad experiences.

Good Trip by ThomasMartin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service from the wait staff and the room attendant was great.  The food at both the evening dining room and the buffet was great.  The evening shows were very good, for the most part; there was one comedian who was fair.

The shore excursions were expensive for what we got.  Felt like we were "ripped off".

Also, we were not told of the mandatory $13.50/day/person "gratuity" fee.  I do not mind giving someone a tip for good service, but I highly resent being forced to give a gratuity, especially when these "gratuities" were not passed down to the staff.

Fun but boring by lindajongon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The trip in it's entiretywas awesome because I got time with my family. However I have a two year old that is a swimmer and self sufficient in water and he wasn't tall enough for the kids water park. He was bummed and that literally put a damper on our whole trip. There really isn't much to do on the ship. And after the first three  days the food tastes the same. I wish there would have been more shows or things to do as a family. Two shows a day isn't enough to fill an 12 hour day. Unless you plan to stay in the pool and eat all day book a trip to Cozumel directly.

Another great cruise! by kennyprice59

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

What more can be said about Royal Caribbean and Cheap Tickets Cruises! We had another wonderful cruise. Even though we had to detour, to what was to be our last port of call, due to a medical emergency, we arrived at our first port of call on time.

A few days before embarkation, we discovered that prepaid gratuities had not been included in our booking, so I called Cheap Tickets Cruises and they were more than happy to correct the issue. Cheap Tickets Cruises is the only way to go!

Our Royal vacation by rhondamedlin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time, everyone on the ship was just wonderful. the only issue we had was our fridge in the room was only keeping things room temp which made it Impossible to keep my husbands medication cold. They did bring us a desk top small cooler but it took up 1 of the 2 plugs available in the room and nothing else fit in it.

Best VaCa ever ! by thurmangl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We loved the Ship , Staff and soo much food especially the lobster tails. I will definitely pack more comfortable shoes next time. We did the island tour shipwreck and snorkel in Honduras, this was my favorite day.  The water was perfectly clear for snorkeling and so many colorful fish and coral. In Belize we toured the Mayan Ruins and river excursion.  It was a little warn but very worth the trip.  The climb to the top of the temple was a little nervewrackng, so high up I had vertigo. Our only regret was not buying the Mahogany souvenirs at the sites gift shop,

Nice ship and crew by Lajollamis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Liberty of the Seas is a lovely ship, and provided consistently good food in the Windjammer, with excellent dining each night in the main dining room.  Not one bad or off meal.  Our wait staff, Desmond and Valerie, were a joy each and every night. The crew was extremely attentive and our room steward was very nice.   I have cruised other lines, but always come back to Royal Caribbean.  We already have our next cruise on Liberty of the Seas booked!  I actually prefer Royal Caribbean over their more upscale Celebrity Lines.  But they did drop the ball on two issues.  We had requested Handicapped assistance, since I suffer from a horrible back injury of 20 years.  It was not available until we checked in.  Then we had to practically beg someone to help us. Thank goodness we had my transport chair, but my husband had a very difficult time dealing with it and carry on luggage.   The disembarkation was a horrible mess.  We were to have received vouchers for our transport to Houston Hobby airport, but my husband had to leave me in the departure lounge, had to go up to Guest Services, and talk to three people before we were able to again beg for help and get off.  Once we got through to the baggage pick up area we no longer had help retrieving luggage.  My husband was once again juggling me in the wheelchair and the luggage.  Finally, a very kind man from the dock crew got our luggage and took us to the bus boarding for the airport. It was raining and we still had no vouchers, then found out since our names were on the bus boarding list, we were good to go.  But, several on the bus were about to miss their connecting flights, since everything was so messed up on the Guest Services end of it. on the ship.  They would call departure group numbers rapidly, but it was very unclear where folks were supposed to go from the departure lounge.  We finally left the cruise parking lot, and we were a bus full of soaked rats!!!  A total cluster, and Guest Services was uninformed and overwhelmed!  Never have we gone through so much to get off the ship.  Never!

Very nice cruise by mgmcjm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise,  so we have nothing to compare it to. The ship was beautiful, clean (except for the women's restrooms. Nasty!) And well maintained. the staff was super friendly. Lots of games, activites, movie showings, and the shows were incredible. But, We were incredibly disappointed in the food. It reminded us of something from a school cafeteria.  Also,  we had to miss a port,  due to bad weather.  The "compensation " was so pitiful. They gave us 1 free pull on a slot machine, a free $20 upgrade on wifi (the wifi was $15-17 daily!), and a discount on bingo or spa. Overall,  it was fun.  But they need to improve the food. And should offer something better to compensate for missing ports.

70th Birthday Cruise by Cruiser12146955

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The entertainment was amazing and the crew was great...With the exception of guest services and our dining room waiter and bus boy. The ship is very big and has wonderful recreation for kids of all ages. The room was spacious and I loved having a Junior Suite.

Amazing First Cruise Experience! by koneko

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had an absolutely wonderful time! From an attentive waitstaff at the Michelangelo Dining Hall, to the huge array of foods available at the Wind Jammer! I really need to work on my balance on the Flow Rider though! :D I went on a Scuba Dive at Grand Cayman, and saw the Thanksgiving parade! My companion and I fully took advantage of our Deluxe Beverage Packages!! I hope to cruise with Royal Caribbean again!!

First Cruise by RonWatts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The dining experience was awesome, able to share with many different couples.  Food choices were prepared really well, with unlimited quantities.

Elevators were always full and difficulty moving from deck to deck.

The ship was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the music.  A country western band from Nashville TN played most nights, and also we had a Latin band for dancing.

The cruise was amazing...underwhelming, and overwhelming, relaxing with so much to do...what the Dr ordered. by johncfloyd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my second cruise on Royal, and it was a really great experience.  There seems to be something for just about anyone on the boat, which is great.  The staff was pretty amazing all the way around, and the accommodations were pretty nice.

The food, given they had to serve 3500 people every meal, was pretty good.  A chef cooking specifically for me would be better, but hey, 3500 is a tall order.

My only negative on the cruise was that there was a constant sales job going on...buy a lanyard, buy a beverage package, buy this massage oil, get your teeth whitened, buy an upgraded dinner, buy a photo, ad nauseam.  Felt a little (or a lot) like I was visiting a time share.

All the staff made up for it though...Josip Binder, Candace, Moses...all top notch. There were so many I didn't get the names of too, who made the experience wonderful.

Good family vacation by shopclip

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Entertainment was the best part,  followed by the service,  and the kids club .   Kids club was great until the last night when my child was stepped on by a bunch of kids. Food was edible except for the last night. Ports would have probably been fine if you booked excursions.  Tons of sales pitches.

Great cruise by tgriffo418

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Just about ever thing was done very well, Our waiters were just great  Very attentive, Very interactive  Booked two more cruises while on board. Great shows, they were a highlight of the trip.I would ask that RC think about discontinuing CNN. Nobody we spoke with on board had anything good to say about CNN. It's like being in a torture chamber of news broadcasts. It is the worst thing about the cruise line. Try FOX your clientele is more intune with FOX news.

Great ship, lots of stops! by christinaaroman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Liberty of the Seas is a great ship!  The available activities on board are plentiful and highly entertaining.  The staff is eager to assist and always cheerful.  The cleanliness and condition of the ship is excellent.  The food is good but the specialty restaurants are amazingly delicious.  Our ship stopped in Roatan, Honduras and Belize City, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico.  Roatan and Belize City are mostly just the port with shopping.  I would suggest that you book excursions for these cities.  Cozumel is one of my favorite places.  It is close to town and there are many things to do there.  We did not bring children, but it looked like there were lots for the kids/teens to do onboard.

review by bobhannum

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

All in all it was very good.  The only thing that I hate about cruises are the constant and annoying announcements over the intercom about meaningless watch sales, or bingo, or shopping seminars (all of which are usually in the compass anyway).  Even most of the captains announcements are about meaningless info like "nautical miles from here to there", current temperatures, wind speeds, blah blah blah.  I enjoy reading on the ship and talking to my friends and the announcements force me to stop reading or talking to wait til they are done.  Its very annoying.

Also, the formal dinning has some of the same problems.  There is constant interruptions of interesting and enjoyable conversation with my table mates due to meaningless information from the wait staff.  Things like the "chefs choice selections" which are already printed on the menu so I don't need help having it reread to me.  And there are the 2 annoying song and dance parades on the last two evenings...again a big interruption to the evening.  I would like the wait staff to be more in the background and available if I have a question but not the focal point of the evening.  The wait staff and cabin attendants are great and wonderful people though and this is not a reflection of them so much as its a reflection or Royal Caribbeans expectations and demands that are put on the staff.
