Ship: Liberty of the Seas

Cabin number: 7574

Review summary

Great cruise but RCCL overloaded the boat with all the extra new cabins that replaced entertainment facilities. This overloading caused backups at buffets, too few tables to eat, not enough seats in theaters and reducing shows was a disappointment.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Great job by all in Galveston

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Good food and great people staff the ship....masses charging the buffets, sucks but on all cruise boats.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
7 nights on board but only 4 had shows. What's gone wrong.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were great, just not every night as usual.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All great

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Always clean and high end but entertainment parts of ship are missing replaced with cabins....which increased lines at elevators, buffets, reduced seating at few shows they have.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great cabin but bathroom had minor swerve smell near end of cruise

Ship tip

It's a good boat but the addition of so many extra cabins with fewer shows, no additional feeding arrangements and same number of elevators...just too crowded

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
It's a great port...not the rip off of Ft Lauderdale

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Did zip lining...great time

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Costa Maya is great....excursion didn't publish start time and left without us. Gave us the cheap tour instead.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great place

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Good except immigration. Dear Lord, 1/2 mile line! Not kidding. Horrible operation!

January 2016 dry dock, they added new cabins, slides and environmental scrubbers.

Not sure what they removed, but they added some new structure on the ship to handle the 26 new panoramic view staterooms back in 2015.

Awww I was on her in 2013 and I wondered what facility they had removed?

They did an overhaul of the ship a couple of years back and did remove/replace some venues and added more staterooms. I'd not been on it before the overhaul so I didn't have anything to compare it too.

ripping out a facility and adding a bunch of rooms with plumbing would be a pretty major undertaking I'm just trying to figure out when they would have had time to do that.

I just got off Liberty and I didn't have that experience at all. Maybe he's talking about a different ship.

yeah that.

What entertainment facilities did they remove and replace with cabins?
