Review summary

Overall a good trip. Some things can be improved. The ice show is first come setting. Get there early and elbow for a good seat or wait until the second day. Don't trust advertised prices.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Reconfigured check-in moved you through the lines quicker. Security Xray was the bottleneck.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
More activities for the under 14. i.e. more kids.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
New shows. Probably best entertainment we have had on Royal Caribbean. Ice show was the only show that was marginal due to lighting (too dark).

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

Good friendly staff.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Typical inside cabin. With two single bed configuration, the space is tolerable. Not the case when beds are configured as double.

Ship tip

Elevator service is at capacity. Try to get a floor and a location where you can climb fewest stairs. Elevators forward are least used.

Ports of call

Excursion were limited to mostly water sports. Dock is very close to the limited shops. Only a Royal Caribbean dock.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Again excursions were mostly water sports. Small town recently added as a cruise stop (was Belize). Dock was large but a tram was provided. Shopping area was new and pleasingly large.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Old time favorite for ALL western caribbean cruises. Port shopping area is being doubled in size for Royal Caribbean ship. It gets very busy when an Oasis class brings 6000 people in. Security is dockside. It will take a long time if you wait until the last minute to re-board. Shopping into the town is excellent (Maybe not the prices). Good safety.

Disembarkation

Worst part of the trip. Long lines. It took over 1 1/2 hours to leave terminal. Pay for a portal and you will get priority in the lines. They cut to the front.
