Review summary
Food in dinning areas, buffets, any free food was either uneatable or very disappointing. Powered eggs!! now that's awful--you had to request fresh eggs or you got powered eggs??? Only good food is in the specialty restaurants--which were wonderful, however this is a obviously revenue driven tactic.
Cheap jewelry/pocketbooks/watches were hawked on deck 5 throughout the trip. Costumer service was disappointing as well....if you tipped you got better service?? Why is that? We tipped 12.95 per day and if anyone went over and beyond I would happily tip more...Very disappointing experience. Also, English was not very well spoken or understood by the crew.
Royal C is turning in to a cheap 2nd rate cruise line. I will not recommend or sail with them again.

If you want good food plan on eating in the specially restaurants. Don't expect superior customer service unless you tip more.

Since I find people who quote themselves insufferable, I won't bring up anything from my earlier review of Liberty of the Seas in general and the food in particular. lindahoef booked this cruise with certain expectations, as we all do. All you have to compare ship food to is restaurant, school, hotel and hospital food to which you've been subjected on land IF you're on your first cruise. If you have only been on one line you have even less with which to make a valid comparison of ship food quality. So, it comes down to this: either you like it or you don't. On Liberty of the Seas I liked fewer dishes than comparable food on Norwegian and Carnival. Yes, I said Carnival. I have an unrequited lifelong love affair with chocolate and I found Royal Caribbean's to be tasteless, low quality, lacking depth and flavor even though it was brown. I have not sailed on this ship. Sorry to read that your experience was so poor. Powdered eggs should not be served on a cruise ship, period. I just had delicious scrambled eggs on my American Queen Steamboat and I would not eat powdered eggs anywhere. If more passengers complained, ships would stop serving them.
