This was our first time on Holland and we really enjoyed the experience.

We love Holland America but this was a subpar cruise for them.

Expensive tours, worn carpets and chars, dirty staterooms. Medical staff and Guest Services difficult to deal with. NO activities on Sea Days, No selection of Soft Drinks on 2nd half of cruise (ran out of Coke Zero, Diet Coke). Great entertainment. Room assignment poor (over Music venue resulting in difficulty sleeping and cabin reassignment). Poor cooperation from medical staff (not able to get Medical Report to share with Personal Physician).

Definitely would not recommend Holland America. Too many Old, handicap passengers. Food sucked, not enough to do. Only positive was the Rock group and Blues group!

HAL Hawaiian Circle cruise is great - if you do not like back-to-back sea days in excess of 2 sea days - recommend you fly to Hawaii and pick up the cruise there. The 10 days we spent cruising the Pacific Ocean with several days of large swells 6 - 8+ feet will give you an indelible memory of why it's called "blue water".

The weather was disappointing, though not HAL fault. No library which was a big disappointment. Staff was wonderful as always.

We've done this itinerary before, but we enjoyed walking around the ports and meeting the locals. The ship was very enjoyable with all the music venues. Stewards were friendly and competent.

The cruise was a great time. Staff was very friendly and made the experience one that I will not forget.

Good destination, beautiful ship and I noticed the best thing was the staff. At the ports, many touts talk to you, but not pushy. They and taxis were safe. Weather of Mexico's west coast was quite comfortable. Towns were bright and colorful. On the ship, every staff member was polite and seriously working. Room stewards, restaurant, customer relations, entertainment, ship operation. We could have a best vacation.

A wonderful relaxing trip. No pressure, no worries, no problems. We never left the ship because we had visited all the ports before, we enjoyed all the ship's amenities.

We were relaxed, ate a lot food and loved the sea days.

It was less than what I was expecting but given I was anxious to have a getaway, it was a hasty decision. I did not find the entertainment to be up to par, the shows were not appealing to me and since I am not a game, trivia type person, this was totally uninteresting for me.

This is a great cruise with a good balance of both on shore and shipboard experiences. An excellent value. We would do it again. But there are many more places in the world that we have yet to visit so a repeat will have to wait.

With all of the ample itineraries, activities and dining options, make sure you research your options before you choose. Avoid cruises with full or multiple days at sea.

Holland America has videos of what to expect on a Koningsdam cruise. They make a big promotion about the music venue, which has no music most of the time. What music I heard was for the most part a big disappointment. Evening entertainment, except on 3 nights, was a TV video like you can see in your living room. Food is not what you see in the videos. A lot of cheap ingredients made to look fancy but still tasting like leftovers. The main dinning room has an extra charge for steak or lobster; otherwise it is stir fry, pasta, or casserole as a choice. One night I skipped dinner entirely because the choices in the dining room and the Lido buffet were so bad I chose to eat some sliced tomato with anchovies. By far the worse food I have ever seen on a cruise ship. For example, on the pre-cruise video you will see a Margarita Pizza with a beautiful crust, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese cooked to perfection. The two on board pizzas I was served were inedible and consisted of a very thin disk shaped crust cooked to a hard cracker-like crust and covered with a thin film of what had been tomato but was now just a dried desiccated hard red paste and covered with cheddar cheese; not mozzarella. There was no basil fresh or dried. In summary, my life got a whole lot better once I was finally off that bait and switch excuse for an enjoyable cruise. I have had several bad cruises on Holland America and never again will we set foot on this ship.

Will not go on HAL again. Found service to be subpar.

I will not be cruising on Holland America again. Princess was a far better experience.

So disorganized. Not typical for Holland America. Try a different ship.

we thought Holland would be an upscale experience...We were wrong. We do approx. 2 cruises a year (2022 sping in Alaska on Carnival... Oct. on Holland,, on Dec .2 going to Caribbean on Royal Caribbean)
