Review summary

Overall the cruise was great - the food and customer service were the highlights and the entertainment was very good but got old by the last couple of nights. The Navigator app only worked on the ship. The final statement was confusing. I wish HAL provided info about the Northern Lights app where we could have gotten notifications. I only knew about this after the fact from Facebook.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Although it was organized, it took over a hour to embark - we had to go through at least 5 or 6 queues

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I used the fitness center and it was OK - the weight machines weren't that great

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The performers were very good. We really enjoyed the rock band in the Rolling Stone Rock Room. The dance group in the World Stage was outstanding - the signing group was just OK, and the comedian was very good.

Children's Programs

I don't have any kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The customer service by the stewards, bartenders, and servers was outstanding especially our stewards Indri and Jung. The customer service desk was very helpful.

Cruise Glacier Bay

4 out of 5
I expected it to be more beautiful but it was gloomy due to the rain

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
We were really disappointed in the Ketchican Waterfront & Wildlife Cruise. It was basically a 2-hr boat ride in the same waters we were in on the ship. We only saw 5 bald eagles from a distance. There was no narration about the waterfront - we expected to see totem poles and colored houses on Creek St and did not see this. This excursion was very boring and not worth $129 per person.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast - took less than 30 minutes and there was a very short line for taking a taxi to the airport
