Review summary

Cruise / ship needs more diversified entertainment options and needs to improve dining services with respect to waiting times for meals to arrive.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Fair - did not like packing hundreds of passengers in a holding room with tight space before boarding

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Everything was excellent when it came to food and facilities

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not use any of the onboard activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Limited variety - one night had no entertainment venues at all.

B.B. King's Blues Club

3 out of 5

If you like Blues, the group was good. We don't.

Billboard Onboard

3 out of 5

Entertainer was a good piano player - singer, not so much.

Atrium

4 out of 5

If you like grand stair cases and elegant chandeliers, you won't see it. We were fine with that.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room stewards and waiters were all friendly but we had some issues with delivery times. Waited 45 minutes once for breakfast to come and another minutes between appetizer and main course. The waiter actually had to go himself to the kitchen to get our meal after he realized how long it was taking. Person handling main dining reservations seemed to hate his job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was well planned out. You won't find majestic staircases and huge chandeliers which was fine with us but design was still elegant.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Best balcony cabin we have had from all our cruises. Ample storage space. Hot water available at all times

Ship tip

If you go during Covid, 90% of the passengers will not be wearing masks after 2 days on the ship.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

3 out of 5
No excursion. Port itself was easily accessible by public transit / subway.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

3 out of 5
Nothing really that exceptional - scenery was OK. Saw a few Orcas on the way back. Very foggy on the way out.

Juneau, Alaska

2 out of 5
Excursion was cancelled due to weather (fog) and delay in getting into port. Didn't take that long to walk through the town and get back to the ship. A lot of jewelry stores and souvenir shops - that's it.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
White Pass Summit Rail/barbecue/gold panning was interesting. A bit foggy in the mountains limited the views unfortunately. Train back down was repetitive.

Cruise Glacier Bay

4 out of 5
Beautiful scenery helped by a very sunny day.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Misty Fjords was excellent helped again by another sunny day. Fairly long boat ride to get to main destination/attraction. Saw hunchback whale on the way out.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Fast process - easy walk to subway station and direct connection to airport
