Review summary

Overall I'm not impressed with HAL and we were so excited to sail with them. A lot of empty apologies is how I'll remember this cruise. Tiny balcony staterooms. Full price with poor quality and service. Another case of "because of covid" excuses. And honestly, after 2 years of being at home and hearing that, they should do better or not sail.

Food and Dining

Obviously slow. Services was poor. Staff seemed confused and slow.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Again. No service around a the pool. FILTHY DECKS with food debris and dishes stacked everywhere for many hours or even in some cases days. The pool itself was clean.

Entertainment

The bands were good. The pianists as well.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Our child loved HAL. But, the young gal working was rude and made a comment insinuating we were confused elderly and didn't belong in the club area. Ouch. And unacceptable as well as reducing rating based on this.

Service and Staff

Stateroom Steward. Excellent. Waiters were slow or non existent. There was an underlying attitude with staff and in particular the cruise director. Again, unacceptable.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design was nice. The size was smaller than others we've sailed. The spa cabins were so small it was uncomfortable though. Common areas were again, poorly maintained. Likely due to reduced or quarantined staff. However, we didn't cruise thinking we would receive a reduced experience at full price.

Tiny. Tiny. Tiny. Lovely shower. A bit too high on rough sea days.

Ship tip

I'd look at larger cabins on another line.

It was a lot of fun, a few improvements can be made such as telling me that my tips were included in the price and then they were not, we had to pay extra for 3rd and 4th person.
