First time with Holland America Line and the Koningsdam ship. Surprised as we did not expect such a positive experience. Easy, good, clean and beautiful. Not loud, not crowded. Love it.
Koningsdam Cruise Review to Europe - Mediterranean
10 day Rome to Rome on HAL Koningsdam. Good price although it really went down after we had fully paid... It is more a port cruise than a stay in the ship and relax cruise. Nevertheless, ship is beautiful and offers a lot to keep you entertained.

We use the MDR and the buffets. Both were excellent. The buffet was a positive surprise. You are served; no messy stations. Tables are set up as in a restaurant. Waiters bring you drinks (water, juices, coffee, tea, etc.), for real! No waiting. Sometimes there was a bigger selection of food than in the menu of the MDR.

Although a water slider could be good it was not missed. Did not get to participate on the computer workshops or in the culinary presentations so I believe we did have enough to do.
Entertainment

There is room for improvement on the World Stage presentations. Need a little more of variety even without going far from their classical musical environment.

Even the so called obstructed view was no problem at all for us.
Even when it was overcast it was beautiful. HAL tour: Highlights of Marseille. Very good tour, however, independent tours purchased through Shoreline were a lot better and cheaper.
We went through Villefranche. Our independent tour operator wait for us there and took us to Eze, Monaco and a drive-by view of Monte Carlo. Beautiful places/scenery.
Easy! However, plan your transfers carefully. We pre-purchased a transfer to expedite. Went out 15 minutes late and they left us. Took the free shuttle to the train station and it to Rome in an hour or so for less than 10 EU per person. Our hotel was a five minute walk from St Pietro Station. walking d
My wife and I are booked on the 7/19/19 10 day Rome round trip cruise on Koningsdam and we are SO excited!! We were on the Nieuw Statendam in December and are looking forward to being on the sister ship
in the Mediterranean!!
