We really enjoyed our 24 day cruise and I would highly recommend the excursions through Holland America as 3 of our excursions went long and we got back to the ship late, but they wait for your excursion if you use Holland America even if it’s an hour late!! That’s peace of mind right there!!

With a trans Atlantic cruise, you are at sea for 7 days. We experienced 2 great presenters that provided excellent topics. I can tell you that these presentations had a full attendance twice a day. The America’s test kitchen was another very popular presentation that provided us with lots of tips on cooking that favorite dish!

The service you receive on this ship is exceptional in every way. From the staff you meet walking down the hall to your food steward that help you each day ... there is always a smile with a greeting!!

This is a new ship, only 2 years old. The crew is constantly cleaning and maintains this ship. It really shows!! What a great touch to have a mat with the day of the week in all the elevators.
Cabin / Stateroom

A very comfortable cabin that was maintained by the best room stewards we’ve experienced. LED lighting throughout, a very nice touch was the usb outlets at the night stands. A very nice shower with plenty of room was a welcome site after a tough day of cruising.
Ship tip
I would recommend that you get a dining room set reservation, rather than dine on your own time. The experience you will have with a food steward that knows you is such a great experience.
There is soooi much to do in Rome, do some research based on the time that your there to make the most of this wonderful city. Don’t miss the Vatican, I would suggest the excursion that starts early in the morning that skips the line. The lines will be unbelievable when you get out!!

This is what I have been saying on other chats on this site but I get “shot down” as giving false information about HAL waiting for excursions booked through Them. It’s nice to see that someone else has had the same great experience on excursions and appreciates the peace of mind that I have always enjoyed with Holland America! Glad you enjoyed your cruise!
