Review summary

The ports of call were wonderful with the exception of Turkey. Cruise traveling, I believe, is the way to get slightly immersed in the sights and cultures of many places.

So it was not cruising per se that was a disappointment; it was the actual cruise ship.

I found the staff on the ship to be unprofessional, inflexible, and not very friendly. I thought the food was quite poor and the entertainment was incredibly overrated!

The cabin was fine but the only tv programs were the ship's itinerary.

So glad you agree. It was our first cruise and it is so reassuring when people counteract negative comments.

I think the staff tend to react in the way they are spoken to. After a recent 9 day cruise on the Jewel I found every single person encountered to be very friendly, cheerful and professional.

I agree Ephesus was the highlight of our cruise. I found the staff impeccable, helpful, informative and professional. The food was first class and if you were served anything you didn't like or didn't come up to your standards it was replaced as many times as you like until you get something to suit your palette. Samantha Jay the violinist and Claire Vinkesteijn were incredible entertainers.

If you didn't like Turkey, you must not have gone to Ephesus.
