Review summary

This was our fourth Royal Caribbean cruise both on large and small ships.  The stateroom was fine and we knew that the ship was being refurbished in a few weeks.

The main dining room for breakfast and lunch (Windjammer) food was terrible.  Each day the food was the same as before with just a slight variation.  They serve in round chafing dishes and it really looks very unappetizing.  They skimp on quality and serve more quantity.  What happend to the smoked salmon and chocolate croissants, my favorites for breakfast?

The Tides dining room for dinner was much better and the wait staff was great.

The entertainment was just ok with one exception which was a fantastic xylophone player.  They had the same comedian three times and he really wasn't that funny.

the daily activities were boring and all revolved around trying to sell something.  The cooking classes were an advertisement for the speciality restaurants and the ladies pamper party is an advertisement for the spa and selling their products.

All in all it was a nice cruise with the exception of the buffet food which was much better on other ships we have been on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The Windjammer was bad and had no variety from day to day. The Tides dining room was good.

Onboard Activities

Boring.

Entertainment

The ships singers and dancers were not bad. They did a Broadway show with songs that nobody knows. The comedian Godwin was just ok. The xylophone player was amazing and by far the best show.

Ship Quality

The ship was going to dry dock for a needed rehab.

Cabin / Stateroom

The ocean view was through a really small porthole and the room was very dark. We could have saved money by getting an iniside room. If you want an ocean view go to deck 3 or deck 4 which has much larger windows. The room was very large because it was a handicap accessible room.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

The iteniary was changed to St Maarten instead of St. Kitts. We never did find out why. St Maarten has the best duty free shopping of all the islands. If you are looking for Dutch cheese buy it here!

Oranjestad, Aruba
