Review summary
This was our 7th cruise, but first on RCCL. Although the ship did show some wear and tear, especially in the cabins, they were fairly roomy and there was plenty of storage space. We had a balcony cabin, and the balcony was a nice size. However, I did cut my leg on a mattress wire that was sticking out from the side of the mattress, as the mattresses were thin, old, and not very soft, but that will hopefully be better after the ship gets refurbished. That was my only complaint about the cabin, and our room steward Makiel was great...friendly and helpful (he fixed the mattress for me). The food was actually better than average in the dining room (just average in the Windjammer...someone needs to teach them how to make pizza that doesn't taste like day-old frozen cardboard)! The public areas were beautiful, especially the Centrum area with the glass elevators. We really enjoyed the entertainment....some of the acts were the best we've seen on ships (not the "Broadway-style" numbers...the singers and dancers were talented, but the production numbers were kind of weird and cheesy). The A Cappella group "The Alley Cats" were superb, as was entertainer Finast Henderson and the comedian...they were both terrific! We also really enjoyed the cruise director Dennis Charles...so talented, and very friendly...he seemed to be everywhere! We loved the shows each night in the Centrum area, and the ship was very lively at night, considering it was an older crowd, with "Oldies" night, Disco night, trivia contests, etc. etc....lots of dancing and activity going on. We love that about cruising, and this ship was one of the best in that category. Overall, we had a blast...great weather, friendly people, lots of activity and fun.

Ship tip
They have a great little cinema that ran first-run movies...it's a nice option if you want a break from the sun, or it's not great weather.
