Review summary

This is the smallest RCI ship we've been on and it was wonderful-more intimate and fewer obnoxious people. While everything from the Windjammer, rooms(slightly-bathroom mostly), casino, dining hall to the absence of a promenade in favor of a smaller lobby was scaled down; there was nothing so small as not to be enjoyed. We were amazed at the friendliness of all the crew-no one was rude or made us feel we got in their way. Especially the boys tending bar in the lobby-Michael and Norman-made us feel welcome every time we stopped by...always remembering our names and drink preferences--seemingly happy to be part of our positive experience.  Our room attendant in 9244, Olman Wright(name may be off a little, since I can't seem to locate his card) was extraordinarily friendly and attentive. He always had our room done up and requested ice at the ready every day. He did the towel animals, which my wife really liked. All things considered, we thoroughly enjoyed our week with the Jewel of the Seas and are already planning another trip on the same ship. While the grandeuer of the larger ships is nice, with a few more amenities; the only thing we missed was Johnny Rockets. But, the intimacy and family atmosphere more than compensated. I would highly recommend this class of ship to anyone, as I have already done to a number of fellow cruise lovers. Our meal at Chops was excellent as were the dining options throughout the ship.
