Review summary

Our 7 day New England/Canada cruise on Jewel of the Seas was wonderful! The ship is kept in excellent condition and showing very little wear. Missed some of the little amenities on other ships, but Crown and Anchor made up for it by showering us with gifts every other day.

Food and Dining

Main dining menu was always very good though the seating was too early at 5:30pm. Chops and Portofino specialty restaurants were outstanding and well worth the extra $$.

Entertainment

Great variety of entertainment. The "Crew Talent Show" was an enjoyable addition. Our cruise director, Clo, was wonderful.

Friendly staff. Always had a smile.

Great ship size and in good shape.

Cabin / Stateroom

Had an ocean view cabin which was narrow but adequate. Ample storage/closet space with plenty of hangers. No flat screen TV.

Ports of call

Saint John, New Brunswick

Took a 1 hr. city tour with a short look at the "Reversing Falls" (missed it) offered by RC. Wouldn't recommend.

Best of Portland and Kennebunkport was an excellent excursion with a wonderful guide offered by RC.

Took a 7 hr. tour "10 Best of Halifax" with an excellent guide offered by RC. Was so worth it.

Enjoyed nature and some shopping at this port. Had to be tendered in. Purchased tour tickets at "Testa's" for 1/2 the price.
