Review summary
Everyone complained about the loud music of the band - we, unfortunately, heard it every day - we were in cabin 3004, adjacent to where the band played and practiced. The noise was horrific and bounced off the walls - do not book cabin in this area if you like to nap in the afternoon or sleep prior to 11 p.m. Guest Services were controlled by Supervisor Ana - although promised she would contact us - she never did. We were told there were no other cabins (other than one that had a horrible chemical smell on another deck) but we later found out that someone who had complained the previous day about the noise from the engines (not as noisy as ours) was moved to a cabin complete with balcony. The entertainment (other than ultra loud band music that drowned out the singers) was fantastic - as was the gourmet food, wonderful, professionally trained waiters, hard working cabin stewards and energetic staff. The ship has two great pools, miniature golf, lots of interesting lectures, pool games and family games as well as a great gym and exercise equipment. Did not visit spa although we had a coupon courtesy of AA because there was no time while the ship was docked (the only time we could use it). Safari club, with two pool tables that automatically balanced when there was a swell, was a great place to meet friends. Casino was pretty bad on slot payouts - hence hardly anyone used the slots during the entire cruise. All in all, a trip across the pond on RCL is a good vacation - this one had 90% Brits who had cruised over on the Queen Mary, spent a week in NY and were heading home. Really interesting group and we made many friends. Avoid paying the $35 to access the internet on board. The computers are so slow and the 60 minutes gives you less than 30 minutes of actual internet communication - but you are charged as soon as you are connected - then wait forever to pull up email.Ship experiences
