Best cruise ever

Outstanding logistics. Nice port calls. Friendly staff. However, a virus outbreak on the last few days of the cruise was poorly handled by the medical staff. I strongly suspect that these type of viruses come from the numerous foreign workers on the ship who prepare/serve food...and probably do to have high personal hygiene standards. We were told by ship's medical staff to buy over the counter medicine. An evaluation by medical was never accomplished...and should have been, given the known virus outbreak. Post cruise, Princess never returned my calls which were intended to gather more information about the virus.

My room attendant as well as the dining staff were awesome but the customer service at the desk, and other areas was not up to what I heard was princess standards. The food at the buffets tasted like generic over processed food... Oatmeal was like slop, eggs in scrambled eggs was mushy, French toast was hard as a rock, fried shrimp was aweful... Steaks at night had grissle throughout them. The restaurant manager Andrew in Provence dining room was unfriendly, rude even, and pompous. I cruise on celebrity quite a bit and had heard that princess was comparable... I'm sorry to say they are not. I've been on 17 cruises and now officially been on all the major cruise lines and princess really disappointed me. The front customer service area was surly and I was snapped at by one of the ladies as well as I watched several other people have the same issue. Communication on the ship was bad and it felt very disheveled and unorganized. I really wanted to like princess but... It just wasn't that great. Even in talking with passengers who had sailed with princess previously, they were quite disappointed with the Island Princess. These are just my opinions and experiences. I hope they are used help. Constructive criticism is meant to be taken to improve or tweak things into a better situation.

Ship needs a bit of reburishing. Cabin carpets need to be cleaned of replaced. Too much rust on the baalcony. Otherwise a great ship

The ship and staff were very professional. The meals, entertainment, and room service was excellent. The land excursions were expensive but enjoyable, except for the salmon bake in Skagway. The place (Lairsville), which is named after newspaper reporters smelled like sour mike. The bar drinks on the ship are expensive (beer is 4.95 and wine is 7.95). The coffee card (29.95) is a good deal as you get 15 speciality coffees. Also, the soft drink offer is good (36.00) for all the soft drinks you want compared to 4.95 per drink.

The ship was clean and well maintained. Food was great and service top notch.

We were on the Island Princess cruise to Alaska and it could not have been better. The service from the captain to the porters was excellent, You can see that Princess cares about customer service. The Princess entertainment was very good (Kevin made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt). The food was better than a top notch resturant and our waiter and asst. waiter were the best. our veranda room was nice and the bath room was ok but the shower was much to small for an adult.

Overall the ship was nice, but I think it is time to update it.

We had an amazing time. This was our 11th cruise and we have sailed with other cruise lines. We would definitely cruise with Princess again and feel this was one of the best we have ever been on. The dining staff was 1st class. We had Vasco and Nino and they were absolutely OUTSTANDING! We loved the ports of call. Alaska is a truly amazing place to visit and even better to visit aboard a cruise. Thank you Princess!!

The ship itself was nice and the food excellent but the overall planning for people who are not drinkers (of alcohol) was poor.

Overall ship was great. Entertainment could be improved. Service and dining was good.

Overall, a very wonderful experience.

Other than high vibration in the stateroom from the engines causing severe lack of sleep, the overall voyage was very nice. We were upgraded to a balcony room and the room itself was very good. However, we we in a peculiar zone of high resonance which resulted in constant vibration. The bed vibrated, likely caused by the engines, making it very difficult to sleep. The first two nights were so bad we had to move to a different stateroom to sleep. The room next to us vibrated as well. We were compensated $80 for the discomfort which was, in my mind, a token gesture and very inadequate. I will be very cautious of accepting a room anywhere in the back end f the boat before testing for vibration.

The ship was in good shape, especially inside, very well-maintained. Our stateroom was great.

Had the friendliest staff ever. Waiter and Jr waiter were the best......so much fun. Didn't want to miss dinner.

I have never traveled with a group with so much travel experience. It was a joy to meet and ask where there next rip was,the ship was very convenient and easy to get around in

This was our first sailing with Princess it proved to be a wonderful two weeks. Our room steward James went above and beyond anything we could have expected. We will definitely be cruising with Princess again.

We had a lifelong memorable experience on this cruise. The cabin was great, the cabin steward was extremely attentive to all our needs. The wait sraff was superb as was the entire crew. The food was five star in my opinion and you gain at least a pound a day because you can not stop eating with such a variety to choose from. The ship was spotless and the activities were abounding. The shore excursions in all ports were exceptiional.

Ship was very nice and satifying.
