Review summary

This was a great cruise. Plenty to do on the ship and plenty of places to just sit and read. Lots of option in each place we stopped. The food was very good. Lots of seafood, but other items too.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went very smoothly. There is lots of construction around the terminal so allow time for that.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Enjoyed anytime dinning. There were 6 of us and we never had a long wait for the dining room. The greeters in the buffet were so happy and friendly. Food was very good, although sometimes needed to be heated more. Not a fan of most of the desserts. The ice cream from the buffet was much better than the soft serve outside.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were very nice. Not as many people as I expected. The outdoor movies were all pretty current. The screen could use a few repairs. Mainly went to the scheduled trivia.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were good. The Secret of Silk was a great production. Get there early. Did not go to the comedy shows. Lots of different music around the ship. Mr. Holmes on the piano played for 3 hrs every night. Not a lot of seating for him, so get there early. The best show was about how meals are prepared and a walk through the galley. Don’t miss it

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is a little older but was very clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony cabin. Had plenty of room. Lots of storage. But the shower was very small.

Ship tip

You can’t really see the canals at work from your room. Go to the back of the ship on floor 8. On 14 & 15 there were lots of people and glass over the rails so you couldn’t get good pictures.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Walked to the harbor on took a 3 hr boat tour. You are able to hop on and hop off

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Dunn River Falls. Did not climb the Falls, but walked down to the beach.

Cartagena, Colombia

5 out of 5
Hop on/Hop off. Nice walking tour, but doesn’t leave much time to see anything else. Had to be back at ship for 2:30. There is a small free zoo at the port that is walking distance from the ship. It is worth your time.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

5 out of 5
Very interesting. Can watch on your tv, but best seen from back of ship on deck 8

Cristobal, Panama

5 out of 5
Rainforest and canals. Saw solths and monkeys. It was pouring, but rain didn’t last long. Went to see the newest largest Locks

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Rainforest and canals. A little longer bus ride but lots of info from the guide. Saw quite a few sloths and lots of monkeys

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Went snorkeling. Did not see most of the fish they said might be there. Saw a sea turtle. Did see plenty of other beautiful fish. Snorkling around the Kittiwake was interesting. Also went to one other place.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and easy. Had booked all our transportation through Princess and that worked out great.

Now you need to do the full transit. We have done both and hope to do the full transit again.
