Review summary

We are First time crushers who are independent travellers so it took a bit of adjusting to get into cruise mode. I think there's opportunity for the cruise business to get into offering more quiet spaces for those guests who need to quiet their minds for a period of time. Perhaps this cruise wasn't the right one for us.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Staff were great as was the food

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't participate much in these. For two people with very busy lives, having the opportunity to be still and quiet was appealing. More quiet space options other than our stateroom would have been good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
What a treat to be introduced to the talents of the Polonia Quartet. We saw one show which while full of talented people I thought was very dated production. Into the 'camp' space.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was fine. Considering the size the space was very efficient and we didn't feel crowded. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars was because we told our travel agent we wanted a balcony so of course we're expecting this. Enrico our steward couldn't do enough for us.

Ship tip

Take ear plugs to zone out the rowdy guests.

If you cannot find some quiet spaces on the Island Princess, you probably should not try a Carnival ship next time ( just kidding). I tend to find my Princess cruises very quiet and relaxing, which is why I cruise Princess. But that is me. Sorry you were disappointed.

or if you didn't get a balcony, do that next time, you can get away and be by yourselves on your own balcony!

I'm going to those fortunate people who can just relax any place. Did you try the library? How about going to your room for 45 minutes in the middle of the afternoon and just relaxing? And there are lots of quiet spaces if you just walk around in and look
