Review summary

The cruise was better than we could have imagined. There were so many options for eating, a variety of activities going on all the time, and beauty all around. We saw so much wildlife and thoroughly enjoyed the naturalists insights and tips. It was a fantastic experience especially with 4 days of land added beforehand.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The experience was great but the photographers weren't on site when we boarded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining had great service and personnel. All employees very attentive and friendly. Would have liked a 6:00 dining time. 5:15 was too early and 8:00 too late. We missed prime glacier time because the boat left the glacier before 8:00 and we were at dinner.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Hot tub, massage, shopping program, jewelry events, naturalist talks, shows, movies on the big screen, casino, nature viewing. One of the hot tubs wasn't working. Wish we knew evening shows were only 1/2 hour long, we would have gone to more. Didn't go til last 2 days because we were so tired and we thought they'd be longer. Jewelry stores on ship and off are too hard at sales pitch. Loved being able to listen to naturalist on tv in room while looking off own balcony. Need a post office for sending packages home.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very entertaining and good. Wish the paper said how long the shows were. We would have attended more had we known they were only 1/2 hour long.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was attentive and pleasant. They were always smiling, friendly and helpful. I loved talking with them and getting to know them a bit?

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean. Wish the elevators went to all of the floors.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was bigger than I thought. Balcony was great. Room was kept clean and well taken care of. Bed was comfortable.

Ship tip

Read the little paper as soon as you get on the ship so you know what is happening and where. It also says where pictures will be taken.

Ports of call

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska Did not visit port

It's where we boarded the train. Not an excursion destination.

Skagway, Alaska

I thought the port was very cute. I appreciated the shuttle service. Went on the eagle preserve float trip. Lots of fun and saw many eagles.

Juneau, Alaska

It was really big. Would have liked a shuttle to go all the way to the ship. Went on the whale watching photographing boat with walk on the glacier trail. Loved the excursion. Very interesting, saw many whales, loved the walk on the trail. It was like another planet. Saw a very different view of Alaska's beautiful landscape. Even saw a baby porcupine which was my favorite from the entire trip. Guide entertaining and informative.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Loved the look of the shops along Creek street. Went on an excursion not put on through Princess and saw so much and learned a lot about the area and Alaska. Saw the totem poles, fish ladder, people fishing off the shore, a waterfall, black bears, eagles , an eagle feeding a baby in the nest, fisherman bring up a new on a boat, a park and more.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia Did not visit port

Went right to airport.
