Review summary

Cruise was very nice. Would've been nice to have something more going on while sailing. We did the 12 day cruise tour. rep knew more about what we were getting than Princess reps. We did the cruise tour connoisseur package. We had a personal guide with us for the 5 days while traveling and staying in Denali, McKinley and Anchorage. Our guide's name was Toni and she was fabulous!! I'd hire her myself to do another Alaskan tour.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a simple easy process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was very good. Lunch buffet was just okay as far as variety.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not a lot to do on board. Casino is super small. Had minimal shows outside of main nightly show.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Nightly main show is your typical cruise show/musical.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Chanal was our room attendant and he did a fantastic job. Our room was always in tip top shape. The bartender near the casino, Steven, was the best bartender on the boat hands-down. His drinks always tasted the best and were very pretty. I did have an issue with some charges and tried to resolve them with the front desk. Princess did NOT take care of the problem. I had to resolve it on my own. Extremely frustrated!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For being a bit of an older boat, it was very well maintained and looked great!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was awesome! Layout of the room was great. It was nice having a separate living area and bedroom. The bed was super comfortable. Everything was perfect as far as the room goes.

Ship tip

Pray you get Chanal was your room attendant! He was so nice and super friendly.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Don't really consider this a port since it was the point of embarkation. We arrived the day before the cruise. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and the Fly Over Canada ride was amazing! Didn't do an excursion here.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Nice little port. Not much to do here. Would book a fly out to a glacier or denali mtn. from here.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Loved this port. We did the "Best of Juneau" excursion. It was really nice. Saw lots of whales on the whale watching. The food at the salmon bake was decent...nothing fancy. Lastly, Mendenhall glacier was amazing. Wish we would've had more time here to walk back closer to it.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Nice little port. Again, very small. Same kinds of shops at each port. We did do an excursion and went to Haines -- it was a wildlife tour. It was very good! Lunch was very good.

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

3 out of 5
Didn't really get to see this place at all. This was point of debarkation.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very nice. Very defined walk to the train for our land tour.
