Review summary

If you want to go to Alaska and see some beautiful scenery a cruise is a great way to go. Do your research so you see what you want. Timing is everything for weather and seeing wildlife. I am not a seasoned cruiser so I cannot speak for which is best but Princess did live up to their expectations.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Too confusing and did not live up to the promises we were given about separate embarkation if you purchased a suite. It was like a cattle herd and very disappointed with the start. Put me in a state of concern. The people at the port were not very informed or helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was cool or luke warm on most occasions. Flavor was good for the most part. Specialty restaurants were great as was the Anytime Dining. I highly suggest this. The grill and pizza areas were extremely good. The drink aspect was great. If you think you will have 8 or 9 drinks throughout the day i highly suggest purchasing the unlimited drink package.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Nothing special here. Bingo was good. The rest was not interesting to me.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
If not for the nightly entertainment in the theater, this would not have been much in the way of entertainment. Be sure you take the shows in each night. I would not have given a five rating if not for this.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
You cannot get better! Wait staff, the steward, hosts and support staff were polite, professional and impeccable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very pretty and well-laid out ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
BEAUTIFUL! A must if you can. Great views, plenty of room and very clean. A little vibration at times but nothing to complain about.

Ship tip

Go to the grill and pizza spots. Take in the movie if you can and go to any show playing.

The White Pass Railway was great. The town was friendly and had a lot of charm

Juneau, Alaska

Larger spot and plenty to do. The Mendenhall Raft trip was pleasant and took in a lot of beautiful scenery.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Quaint town and easy to get around. Took a seaplane ride on our own as the one we booked was cancelled due to weather. Be sure to do this if weather permits.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Spectacular place. We did all on our own and suggest that you stay for a day or two and take in the city. It is worth it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Much better than embarkation and very organized and simple. The separate room for suite guests is well worth it
